Bold predictions for divisional round (1 Viewer)

New Orleans 24-21...gonna be close

New York Giants 34-31...distractions and a veteran battle tested NYG team will be too much for Green Bay and stop short a potential dynasty run.

Baltimore 23-16...The Ravens are all in, it's Super Bowl or bust for them.

Denver 27-24...Divine Intervention

Nothing all that bold coming from me unfortunately.

GB 34 - NYG 27, the Gmen put a real scare into the hearts of the GB faithful but in the the end a more rested Packer team pulls out the W at home.

SF 27 - NO 24, I suppose some may see this as bold. I mean most everyone seems to think SF needs to score at least 30 to have any chance here. I'm not sold on that notion. SF can control the tempo on offense and I think their D comes up with at least 2 big plays to pull an upset at home.

Balt 24 - Hou 17, the score would indicate a close game here but I don't think the game will be played that way. Balt will shut down Foster and the Hou ground attack and that will cause major problems for Hou. Flacco can do enough in this game to create points even though Hou has a solid D.

NE 40 - Den 13, NE, much like they did in the regular season, will take it to Den in a big way. No 2nd half miracles or Tebow magic will be in the cards for this game as NE will put such a big lead up early that the game won't be in doubt at all in the 4th.

Saints 35, Niners 17 - I think the Saints blow the doors off the Niners in the first quarter and the home team spends most of the game just playing catch-up.

Patriots 24, Denver 6 - Don't see the Broncos being able to score much. I know the Pats' defense hasn't been good but I think Belichick has a little something up his sleeve facing Tebow the second time around.

Texans 18, Ravens 13 - Yates does just enough and Foster has a huge day. Joe Flacco is still Joe Flacco.

Giants 38, Packers 32 - Whoever has the ball last wins. I'm going to guess that's the Giants since they have a better running game this time around and will be wary of giving the ball back late in the 4th.

I think that the 49ers will be able to put some pressure on Brees and will be able to come up with a couple of turnovers that Detroit should have. I also think that the 49ers will be able to run the ball fairly well on the Saints and will be able to sustain long time killing drives that keep the ball out of Brees' hands. SF winning 26-21, with Akers kicking four field goals.

New England will completely control the Broncos and win 34-10. Tebow will throw at least two interceptions.

Baltimore will slow down the Texan's running game and TJ Yates will be exposed when he tries to do too much. I think that the Ravens defense will force several turnovers and win the game 27-10.

The final game is the one that I am most looking forward to watching. I think that the Giants may be able to perform similar to what I expect from the 49ers by pressuring Aaron Rodgers. They must be able to sack him, because he can still make plays even when pressured if he is not taken down. I think that Eli Manning, Victor Cruz, and especially Hakeem Nicks will all have nice days and the game will be close in the 4th quarter, but the Packers will be able to hold off the Giants by 31-28. Very exciting game to end this weekend's action.

Let's see how it comes out.

1. DEN vs. NE, I take NE to cover the points 13.5 and win by more and I take the over 50

2. NO vs. SF, I take NO to cover the 3.5 and win by more and I take the under 47

3. BAL vs. HOU, I take BAL to cover the 7.5 and win by more and I take the over 36

4. GB vs. NYG, I take GB to cover the 7.5 and win by more and I take the under 53

Scores to be

DEN/NE 20-34

NO/SF 24-17

BAL/HOU 24-13

GB/NYG 34-17

DEN @ NE: NE 38-20. No way the Broncos will be able to keep up, regardless of their defense

NO @ SF: NO 28-21. SF has a great DEF but i don't see how they will be able to contain NO. Like the Packers, no one has been able to keep up with them. The era of DEF is over.

HOU @ BAL: BAL 24-14: BAL is simply the better team here. Foster is a beast but they should be able to contain him and that pretty much nullifies the offense for HOU.

NYG @ GB: GB 42 - 28: GB, like NO, is high octane and the Giants simply wont' be able to keep up this time. Yes, they are healthy but so is GB. Yes they are running the ball well but so is GB (when they do run). Manning will be forced to keep up and that's when the turnovers will happen.

Pretty dang close on those 1st 2 games. Looks like SF's D came up with far more than 2 big plays though. Let's see how we fair on day 2.
