Boldin Intimidated? (1 Viewer)

32 Counter Pass

Footballguy
I got the strong impression that Dawkins intimidated Boldin last night, explaining his drops and fumble. I was really surprised by this because Boldin has been tough as nails in the past.

Anyone else get the same impression?

Every player has a bad game once in a while. It happens. Considering how tough Boldin has played since coming back from that awful injury, I doubt he was intimidated by a single player. He is as tough as they get.

Here's my opinion - when he got his bell rung early in the game he got a concussion. He just seemed "off" for the rest of the game.

There was that one play pretty early, he took a pretty good shot to the head/face. He did go to the sidelines, to sit out a play but they called a timeout and he was back on the field. It is not impossible that it contributed to some of the poor play. It is also likely that he just had a bad game, and the more he tried to fight through it, the worse it got.

He dropped one when he looked up a fraction too early knowing the hit was coming. He also dropped two TDs. Law of averages-wise, he was due for a poor performance, but still racked up some yards.

I thought the same thing.
As did I. Boldin is the type of competitor, who, even if he didn't feel right, would continue to play. As many have said, it may very well have been just a bad game, but it's so uncharacteristic of him, I really believe he was probably mildly concussed.

Boldin and Steve Smith are ONLY intimidated by Jesus. No one else. :)
:goodposting: A bearded hippie who preaches peace and love isn't that intimidating.

This thread is a classic overreaction to one given game.

Boldin had a bad game against a good defense. And yes, even Boldin will have an off day now and again. He's not going to go 10/150/2 every week. Fuethermore, to suggest that Boldin of all players, who had he face blown up and came back strong just a couple of weeks later played poorly because he was intimidated strikes me as entirely just bizzarely out of left field.

Nope I am not over reacting to anything. Simply posting an opinion. Bolding was definitely off his game last night and Dawkins was laying the wood. I saw several plays where it almost seemed as if Boldin was more concerned about where Dawkins was instead of his responsibility. I simply wanted to canvass otehr opinions. It may strike you as bizarre, but it isn't completely improbable, but I will put you down for "do not agree." BTW, anyone remember who laid the hit on Bolding that cause him to leave the game for a play?

I really respect Boldin, and I do think that he is tough as nails. I have always been one of his biggest fans. However, after watching the game last night... and then rewatching it and going through his drops in slow motion... he REALLY looked worried about getting hit after the catch. I was suprised. Especially the pass in the end zone, he was clearly worried about getting hit. I almost felt bad for him because it looked like it was about to be a replay of when he got hurt.

Maybe he was more concerned with the fact that he just had 8 plates put into his face and his jaw broken only a few weeks ago. This guy is a beast, he's tough as nails, and I'm sure getting your clock cleaned after an injury like that is hard to brush off. In my opinion this guy has been playing with house money since he came back - most guys would be done for the year with that kind of injury. If Dawkins got in his head its only because hes playing with a busted dome.

He was definately afraid of getting hit Thursday night and that's absolutely the reason for some of the drops. Watch the game again if you disagree.

But he can next week. Warner's man-love for Boldin grows every week. He probably apologized for throwing two scores to Fitzgerald and promised end-zone celebrations next week. He'll be good for at least two.

It did seem that Boldin was playing a little timid after he took a bit hit. I was hoping for a bigger game out of him.

Well at least someone else thought Boldin might have been at least a little intimidated. I am not questioning his toughness but it is only human nature to feel at least a little intimidated after the injury in the Jets game.

There is no question he had an off night. I think it was due to Dawkins. Those drops were very uncharacteristic of Boldin's play.

intimidated <> slightly concernedRandy Couture wouldn't intimidate Boldin in a fight.

Boldin = STUD FF PERFORMER......MUST STAR EVERY WEEK, NO MATTER WHAT!

Even Barry Sanders had a bad week hear and there...not that Boldin is Barry, but even the best have off weeks!

Keep in mind that this was the guy, that after his face was ripped off so they could slam a buncha plates, screws, and what have you in it didn't take any painkillers because, and I quote "I don't do painkillers".

I'll buy that he may have got his bell rung, and that the ensuing cobwebs may have thrown him off a bit, but "intimidation" is an emotion Q only knows how to give...receiving just ain't in him unless it's a football.

Best WR in the NFL, flat out. If I can have one, any one, only one, for "my" team it's him in a heartbeat. Biggest upshot to being in AZ as a Football fan has been the opportunity to see him from Day 1, and he's as solid a person as he is a player (from what I know at least).

If Boldin leaves the Cardinals will rue the Fitz v. Boldin decision for years.

It wasn't just Boldin, AZ dropped a bunch of passes in that game. Warner(and my FF team) got screwed out of another 100 yards easy.

I watched this game and I also thought AB was pulling up early because he saw the big hit coming.

I can't blame him though, that was a nasty hit he took during the Jets game.Yes he is still a beast

but now he's a beast that will watch out for the big hit and pull up when he see it coming.I still would

love to have him on my FF team but ask yourself this, would you want to take another hit like that?

I wouldn't.I would do everything possible to help my team on the field and not take another hit like that.

Thats why so many players are unwilling to go across the middle and the players that do it are well loved/respected.

Hits like that can put you out of football forever, hits like that can change the way you play football.

On his first dropped touchdown pass, there is absolutely zero doubt that he peaked up and saw Dawkins coming. I know all about the plates in his head and the shot that he took against the Jets, and I'm not calling him a wimp or anything, but he was definitely intimidated Thursday night.
