Bragging, venting, crowing, grieving... (1 Viewer)

Not trying to make you feel bad.  But at this point in the season where you drafted someone doesn't mean anything.  Eagles are on fire and Wentz is leading the league in TDS.

I will say that this week I prob would have done what you did and started Wilson at home.  What Wentz did against one of the supposed top defenses was incredible
Right - like I said, most of the times i got it wrong was the 1st month.

which made today feel far more horrible as a result. lol

and it’s all good - it’s just fantasy football. This was the venting topic so just lamenting my inability to guess right a single time this year. lol

I hear ya.  I'm salty tonight too.  Magic football makes me angry sometimes

Or you could accept the rule in place and plan accordingly.
Well that is what I have been doing for 23 years - but the point being our rule would be okay if there was any latitude.  There are times when despite your planning, a late scratch occurs and you can't field a full lineup through no fault of your own.  If you did not plan for your byes it is one thing, but if you have used your bench spots to cover byes and injuries happen beyond what you can cover with your 3 roster moves there should be leeway.  Slippery slope, I know but it sucks to have plans in place and then even your plans are derailed.  Even if they added a proviso that exceptions can be made due to injury so that no team has to field an incomplete lineup I would be okay with it.  There would have to be some sort of penalty - i.e., the player you pick up you have to drop the player he is replacing or something like that - but even that could get tricky with a shady owner.

Started out 0-5 but have now won 4 straight to pull within 1 of the last playoff spot. Won the high of the week ($30 each) the last 2 weeks and will lead the league in points unless Jordy and Tate combine for 42+ points.

:lmao: This f'n hobby.  Went into full rebuild mode a couple weeks back, and traded away Bortles, Bell, AJG and Watkins.

This week I had a ton of guys on bye so I had to start Charles, Powell, Higbee and Jonnu Smith.  And also got -3 from my PK.

Scored 105 b/c I had Goff, Newton and Hilton in the lineup.

I'm starting to understand the logic of non head-to head leagues. I have the most points in my league through 9 weeks, assuming Tate puts up less than 22 tonight.  I'm 3-6.

My teams are really starting to fall apart.  I've been one of the top scoring teams up until last week and this week.  My WRs have been Jordy, Cobb, Evans, Fitzgerald, Crabtree and Sanders.  They started great but now almost all have lost their QB or just have poor QB play.  Sucks!

In a doubleheader league. It helps a bit unless you're the league's whipping boy, which I am. Most points against by a 150 margin and growing...

Same boat - lost Ertz prior to game time so had to start Crabtree, Nelson and Funchess.  At the start of the season those three would have been gold - now, not so much.  Think the fantasy gods are starting to call me out on my ridiculous overperforming players in the beginning of the season.

Can't believe I'm going to lose to the worst team in the league, who i outscore by 30 points per week on average.  Aaron Jones and Mike Evans...ugh.

Also had to drop Ty Montgomery to cover a bye week.  I'm sick of fantasy football

$1k buy in league.  No decimal scoring for yards, but sacks are worth .5 points, so you either see whole number scores or .5s.

Week Nine - lost 78.5-78.0

Week Ten - lost 66.5-66.0

Anyone ever lost two consecutive games by a grand total of 1 point in a non-decimal league?  I could have gotten 1000-1 against in Vegas.

I've never complained about bad luck. It's part of the game and part of the fun imo. But in my league, if I had the #2 seeds schedule id be 7-2. Instead my record is 2-7. I've never had such a big disparity just based on schedule. Usually it swings 1-2 wins at most not 5. Instead of a first round bye I'm currently the worst team. Crazy.

As you know, this whole hobby is more luck than most would admit

Getting a little nervous about Zekes playing status, I started looking for an owner with bye week QB problems.

BINGO, found a buyer

I gave: (must trade position/position

Big Ben

Gore

R Mathews

I received

Winston

McCoy

Lockett(was targeting as Wilson owner)

If Zeke playes it leaves me with Zeke, McCoy, and Hunt

How’d I do?

Had a decent start to the day led by JuJu, 60% chance of winning at 3:50 pm against the first place team

We have bonus points for plays AND TDs over 40 yards

OPP:

- 70 yard TD AJ Green

- Stafford to Tate 40 yard TD PAT Prater

Guy had all four, scored 40.6 points in about 30 seconds

Now a 20% chance of winning

:lmao:

I always go against high scores. This week going against Murray who came alive today
Same boat.  Last week, it was Hilton who blew up....this week....Ingram.

Avg score in my league is 112.  The past nine weeks, the LOWEST score against me is 119.5.

This year can't end quick enough.

I'm kind-of bragging(but not really)...

Week 6 - My team had the highest score in the league for the week

Week 7- Had the lowest score of the week

Week 8- Highest score

Week 9 - Lowest score

Week 10- On pace for the highest score again

Weird season

I’m a ####### every week my decisions for flex have costed me 2 weeks in row.

Then still had a lead after the last Brady TD...only to fall behind again in the broncos int (have Brady he has NE defense )

Also...Hunter Henry can kiss my ### too.

Weird seeing three of the WRs I recently traded away (DT, Tate and Thielen) all have good to incredible games but those I got back (Cousins, Ingram, Anderson, Shepard) did better overall and got me the week's highest score. Lots of offense this week!

I can’t even be mad about what happened. Robert Woods has more TDs the last two weeks than he’s had in 3 of his 4 seasons - three weeks ago he’d never had a multiple TD game in five seasons. Week 9 was a fluke, don’t chase points, when has he ever been the right answer,et al.

Just came to vent about how awful the 4:00 and 8:00 thanksgiving day games look. I know flexing a game 3 days  forward is a little crazy but I sure would love to enjoy my thanksgiving watching good football, instead we get an afc/nfc match up and the Giants. Thanks.

I feel like they are usually crappy games(although that could easily be disproven by looking at past schedules, but I'm too lazy to do that right now)...but, at the very least the early Lions-Vikings game looks to be a good one with a lot on the line.  So, at least we have something!

Dynasty roster in a 10 teamer (start 1 qb, 1 rb, 2 wr, 2 flex, te, idps)...

Rogers, Watson, Cam, Brissett, Cutler

Zeke, Hunt, Fournette, Ingram, Hyde, Abdullah

Allen, Landry, Jeffery, Juju, Josh Gordon, D Parker

Olsen, Reed, Ebron

IDPs including Watt, Melvin Ingram (as a DL), Wagner, Lee, Collins, Reid

2nd in points, 2nd in all play.....I'll be 5-5 after tonight.

I benched Funchess for Parker, and Burkhead for Morris.

I'll lose by less than 10 and this will effectively kill my playoff chances.

Up by 50 going against Cam and Drake. Easy win?

WRONG

Better yet...have scored over 100 points in each of the past 5 games, in a 14 TEAM LEAGUE, and are 1-4 in that span. wooo

Down 56 entering MNF. I basically wrote this week off, 4th straight loss with playoff hopes flickering out. Have Cam and Funchess still to play.

Now--up 2 pts with 8 minutes to go. Please God no stupid turnovers!

Overcame a 25 point deficit on MNF to take the lead with 5:56 left. Had a 70% probability of winning. The lead lasted four plays until Jarvis Landry (Opp) caught the TD with 4:!3 left.

:lmao:

Ran into Cam, Murray and Kamara in my league where I am the overall point leader but sitting at 5-4....but thanks to Funchess wound up winning 146-144 (average score is around 110) moving to 6-4.  I have faced the highest scoring weekly team in 3 games, the second highest weekly score in 4 games and have been the highest scoring weekly team in 4 games. My team has given up the most points by just under 100 points on the season.  You can't make this stuff up.

Three of my teams have now been involved in a combined 5 games decided by less than a point this year. Three losses, one tie and tonight’s win by 0.44, in which a 5-yard pass to Drake was the decider.

Double header league was up in both games going into last night. Cutler to Landry(he had both) late TD=3 point loss. Playing Funchess in the other lost by 5. Now 7-13 and eliminated from playoff contention.

Outscored everyone this week, best my opponent by 40, who was the 2nd highest scorer. All that with Tyrod getting 3 and a half points.

In my 10 team league, my opponents combined would have an all play record of 74-16.  I have not faced a team that scored in the bottom half in any week this year.  3 times the highest score of the week, 2 times the 2nd highest score of the week.

This is how you are 4th in scoring, yet your record is 2-8.  Worst schedule luck ever.

Did NOT look good for me on paper going into the week.  Opponent had Brees, Bell, Freeman, AB, Hilton, Jordy, and Graham.

Freeman going out early certainly helped, but I lost a game or earlier in the year when Julio got hurt, so I'm not giving back the win.

In one league I have Beckham, Dalvin Cook, Carson, Aaron Jones and Freeman.  Remind me why I play this game?
Lost Jones and Freeman and ended up with the 2nd lowest point total of the week because of it.  Fortunately, I played the team with the lowest point total and am still in decent playoff position.  Now that I'm down 4 starting RBs and an all-pro receiver, I'm not sure it will make any difference.  My managerial skills/luck will be put to test this year.

I'm the top scorer in the league by a wide margin, but now down to 5-5 and two games out in the playoff race with four to go. Going to need to get some of the luck that hasn't been coming my way
