#1 seed playing 4th seed. Im up by 26.82pts with no players left. He has Mohamed Sanu tomorrow night.
I thought I was going to waltz into the finals easy then I lost Antonio Brown and my opponent had Gurley go nuts. Now I could actually lose. Sanu scored 27pts last time he played TB at home. Its a road game this time but Atlanta has to win to stay in the playoff hunt. Hopefully Sanu isn't the hot player this time.

#1 seed in both of my leagues but now both could go either way pending the last 2 games.Going by expected points both are a toss up.

Lost all 3 of my semi final match-ups. Lol 3rd lowest score of the year in 2 of my semis. I was just lucky to be there in the 3rd. Standard.
Won scoring title in one league. Lost scoring title in other league by less than half a point. Doesn't matter. Got slaughtered.

Highest point total in the history of the league today with 250. Could've sniffed 300 if AB didn't get hurt. Only problem was it's the consolation bracket..........

Had a bye last week but ran into a buzz saw this week. My opponent got 44 points from Minn D and Gould, throw in Cam, McCaffrey, and McCoy and he has almost 200 for the highest score in our league this year. Oh well, playing for 3rd next week I guess.

CHAMPIONSHIP! Nobody cares, I know--you shouldn't. Dynasty league closing in on 20 years, though, so it feels pretty good when there's that much history in one league.
FBGs really did help this season. Won this league with the most points scored, finished out of the money in my other league (but lead that league in scoring, too). It was worth the investment to be here. Thanks, guys.

Both my teams were HUGE favorites heading into the games this week - both faced Gurley and one faced Bell as well. Now, not only am I going to need luck to survive but I also lost AB for the championship (in both) if I make it. To make matter worse - I also had Funchess and his disappearing act in both leagues and if I do make the title game he will be my de facto #1 wr.
At 3pm central i was a 30 pt projected favorite
My team: Brown - hurt, Graham, -1 receiving yards
His team: Gurley (48 pts), F-ing robbie gould 25 points
I'm now losing by 30 points with only freeman left against his ATL d.
This is a quit fantasy football buzzkill, in this particular league i've made the semi's 6 years in a row with only 1 title to show for it.... i've mastered the 50% skill aspect of the hobby (at least compared to my leaguemates)... but havent had much help on the 50% luck end of it

Done the same thing. I've scored more than anybody in my dynasty league over 6 years. Only 1 title and no 2nd or 3rd places. Going to lose the 3rd place game next week too. It's a gaurantee.

42+ point Hunt, my opponent loses his best LB (David,TB) & #2 RB (Fournette).
Wentz got hurt so I started Wilson.
I had Foles 40 spot on my bench.

To make matters worse, I only played the team I’m facing because we have a dumb “MLB-style” rule where the WC can’t play the 1-seed if they’re from the same division. So as the 1-seed i had to play a tougher team. Naturally, I’ve already outscored the WC team by 10 with 2 YTP, and the WC is done.

And next in the LCG I’m facing the Antonio Brown team. He has Rodgers too, but playing against Minny I’m hopeful it’s not ARod’s best game. If he had ABrown it would be a daunting matchup. Now it’s probably a coin flip.

Of course I had to go up against Hunt and Gordon. Losing to the 2nd highest score of the season. If ESPN had followed proper playoff scheduling and had the #1 seed play the lowest seed of the 2 winners from round 1 (me being #6 seed) I'd have easily won and advanced to the finals. Awesome.
Made it to the championship game in both of my 16-team leagues.
Ironically, I'm facing the same opponent in both league championship games. Unfortunately, his roster completely obliterates mine in one league and in the other I just lost Antonio Brown. Needless to say, I'm a significant underdog in both contests and will need to hit on some high upside plays in order to pull off either win.

I had a slight lead as Oakland drives down the field. I have Carr and need him to quit heaving bombs like uncle Rico as they drive down. Then he scrambles- which puts me up exactly 2 pts, which is exactly what I lose for a fumble. Finished tied, pretty sure I lose any possible tiebreaker.

Similar story for me over the last several years.
Ironically, in one particular 10 teamer (my oldest league) I faced the exact same opponent 3 straight years, and whipped him all 3~!
Each time, there were no huge blow up games (a Gurley-esque 40 pointer or something similar), and it worked out just right where I won each time by just a handful of points. That guy must think I sold my soul to the devil or something.
This year, I clinched a finals berth in 2 leagues today, and a strong chance at a clinch in a third, my biggest money league.
The bad news is, I lost Antonio Brown in 2 of my 3, and it just so happens I have big Ben going as my QB in both of those as well. It is in these two leagues, I am facing the same guy. (but NOT the one I played and beat in previous years)
Look over some of the "high upside plays" as you put it, its something that MUST be done when you are a significant dog. You are basically increasing variance in hopes to get lucky. In my scenario this year, I was able to snag Keelan Cole, who l I will likely have to trot out as a substitute for Antonio Brown in both leagues, our wires are pretty thin. I'm going to have to "gamble" as he now has a better WR corps, and he had a slightly better RB corps as well.
In one, I have switched tight ends, to roll out Jesse James. He will be my one "long shot play". Losing AB is rough, I will merely hope Jesse James will be hit for a TD or two, then I get points for both the QB and JJ as well. The matchup vs Houston is a good one.
You may look for my "Get Ballsy semi finals week" thread. I started it last week about this very thing. Myself, I started BLAKE BORTLES OVER AARON RODGERS in one particular league. As it worked out, I would have won either way, and both put up similar numbers.
For what its worth, I will crank up a "GET BALLSY FOR CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK" thread tomorrow night or early Tuesday sometime. Likely tomorrow.

Down 60 with a couple of poor lineup choices and Julio going tonight. With a perfect lineup I'd still need almost 40 from him. (non-PPR)
So, 300 and 5TD doesn't seem like too much to ask, does it?

Always like reading your posts, maybe you will catch a break and win a tie breaker.
You may not even know in this scenario (or not yet, AND I assume you are using decimal scoring) but what will happen to you and your situation in the event of a tie?
Hopefully its not bench points (unless you had a load of points on your bench), maybe its a divisional issue? Some leagues are like that.
I'm just curious, as I really have no idea what we would do in 1-2 of my personal leagues, in the event of an exact tie down to the hundredth of a decimal point....off the top of my head I think we go to overall total points for the season. Even then I would have to check to be sure.
Oddly enough, earlier this year we had a tie, in one of my decimal leagues. Thats right, a dead tie. 83.74 - 83.74 in week 1 this season. One owner was aided by a stat correction, so that was the end of it, and neither later made the playoffs.
Thats the first time I have ever seen an exact tie, down to the hundredth of a point. I don't hate to see anyone lose, but I was ultimately glad the tie was broken through a stat correction.....and equally as glad it didn't affect any playoff berths.

Well it’s a yahoo League with friends, and there isn’t any clear indicator as to what the tiebreak is. Regular season I believe we simply tie (it is decimal scoring, 145.34-145.34). I’m hoping that we end up with a coin flip- I’ve looked at bench points, hth regular season, reg season points, etc and is lose all those. If only he got one more yard before he fumbled.....

Originally it showed me winning by 2, then for about 10 mins it showed a tie, then it back to me winning. I knew he hadn’t been credited with a lost fumble, I was hoping it was some obscurity like it’s not considered a lost fumble because the opposing team didn’t actually recover it. Later in the night there was the correction and it brought it to a tie. My god, watching carr skip passes off cowboys knowing I get -2 for an int, the heave that got the pi, that little floater he tossed in the middle of the field, I’m crapping my pants the whole time. Then he makes the run, and I’m scrambling to the rule book to see if I lose points for the fumble, see I do and am mad, but then realize I didn’t account for the rushing yds, and see I’m winning, to tied, to winning, back to tied. What a roller coaster- and the rest of the people are on the west coast and probably went to bed thinking it’s a loss, I want to text him (I’m playing the commish, who luckily is a good guy so coin flip has a real chance) but it’s 430 am...

First year start up in PPR/IDP Dynasty, traded and FA/FAAB my way to the Championship game yesterday and had Gurley go wild. I really expected I wouldn't win with Gurley's match-up vs my Hawks. Rodgers coming back to toss 3 INT's in his return didn't give me much hope early when his guy Ingram pilfered a Thomas TD and 2 of Thomas's were called back (I That was an 18 point swing and I thought I was sunk). I also like someone else had said - trusted L.Collins to play (took out Burnett) and also had trusted my gut to go with Dansby over Judon - those combined would have given me 16 more points. At the point before Gurley took over I was only up by like 20 with Brady starting like 6-6, then He had M.Lee go down early, had a goosegg from his stud LB and Brady in the end didn't come through for him like normal. Absolutely was reading the tea leaves and thought my luck had run out - it was surreal to see the lead build and eventually be 61 with him only having Cook and Dez left.
Gurley literally scored 43.5 points and I Won by 41...Little more pep in my step today with that payout forthcoming!

Vent for a buddy...his starters included Drew Brees/Michael Thomas/Jesse James (and he is a Steelers fan). Lost three tds on overturned calls, his NFL team lost on one of them - and he is now likely to lose his semfinal game by less than 5 points barring a miracle. That is the kind of weekend that could make you quit this hobby.

In my 2-QB keeper league (keep-6), I had my eye on 2019 as my ascendant year. I kept Garappolo and Henry this year, just to keep them in lower rounds so they had pick equity. I out-performed based on drafting guys such as Goff, Fournette and Theilen. And will likely end up just outside the money (4th place, third in points), while guaranteeing the 9th overall pick. I'd have been better off tanking.
Allen, Theilen, Goff, Jamaal Williams and Kupp all did their part to make me get stomped yesterday.

I'm thinking about just quitting the hobby.
Been playing since 2004. Won everything three times. 2 seconds, 3 thirds. So I have had decent success over the years.
The last time I won it all was Peyton's last big year in Denver. The year after I took a year off but missed it and came back.
The highs and lows don't seem to be weighing right anymore. I'm not that happy when I win and mad when I lose.
This might just be because I had a really bad playoff stretch but I'm seriously considering using my time elsewhere during the fall on Sundays.

Really felt like the fantasy gods hated me last night. Already had my #1 RB Fournette out, then my last two players were AB and Brady. AB goes down, Pats run for the TD at the end, keeping Brady at 298 yards passing and keeping me from my 3 point bonus at 300 yards. Went into SNF with no one left, up 8.7 against Alfred Morris in standard scoring. Of course I'm the guy who dropped Morris after the Chargers game, and now he's going to knock me out of the playoffs. He puts up 51 yards in the first quarter, I go to bed angry. Woke up at 2am and checked my phone to see the damage, I squeaked by and won by less than 3 points. Somehow Alf only put up another 10 yards the whole game.
Like the guy above me, I probably owe my wife some flowers or something. I was not a happy camper last night.

TLDR:
My opponent is a Packers fan who started A. Rodgers and J. Williams - all week I was planning to start Cam - I was thinking he's going to have to keep up with Rodgers at the very least and will probably feast on the poor GB defense even if Rodgers struggles. Further, I traded Brady in ~week 8 because I had R. Wilson on the bench and part of that trade I received Cam due to his juicy playoff matchups at home vs GB and TB. GB was bounced from the playoffs by CAR and had I started Cam I would have won my game (making it all the more painful for my opponent to see his FF team as well as NFL team get bounced by Cam). But no. I played R. Wilson after looking at all the stats, projections, etc. Not blaming anyone else - but the choice I made didn't work out.
However, I further complicated matters by benching M. Goodwin for D. Baldwin after my opponent took a big lead due to the 1 o'clock play. He had M. Gordon from SAT, plus Rodgers, and MIN D giving him a massive lead with pretty much the rest of his team still left to play. I had Goodwin in the lineup until about 3:30 and switched him for Baldwin
I knew Goodwin would be targeted a lot and he pretty much performed as I expected (around 100 yards) - but that wasn't going to be enough due to being in a big hole. I felt Baldwin was high risk/reward play but that's what I thought I needed at 3:30 yesterday so I made the switch and that cost me 16 points (stupid 5 point bonus for 100 yards receiving). I also had D. Lewis and Gronk going against my Steelers and they were relatively quiet unitl their final drive. The Steelers had a chance to ice the game and all but secure home field advantage in the AFC, but no. Instead Gronk gets about 70 yards on the final drive and the 2 point conversion and Lewis scores the TD. Putting me within reach of my opponent, although a long shot. Then the Steelers ####ed up the end of the game and didn't even send the game to overtime - which would have allowed Lewis and Gronk to amass more points. During the game, I was hoping for a Steeler win in regulation and only looking back to I realize that not at least tying the score robbed those two of an opportunity to help my fantasy team.
So Wilson for Cam cost me 30 points (QB scoring is stupid in this league too -- 2 points for every 25 yards passing -- 6 points for TDs 5 point bonus at 300 yards passing). But then that decision compounded the problem and caused my to make the Goodwin for Baldwin switch, costing me other 16 points.
He's done and I have D. Freeman going and need 33.7 points to win (287 yards rushing would do it, 227 and 1 TD, 167 and 2 TDs, 107 and 3TD. We also get bonus points for long plays (longer than 50 yards), so as screwy as this scoring system is I could get 33.7 on two plays - a 54 yard TD run and a 53 yard TD run would do it. Total yards would be 107 = 15.7 points 2 plays over 50 yards, 3pts each for 6 points, 2 TDs = 12 points (15.7 + 6 + 12) -- that would be so awesome and totally bail me out

Had I kept Goodwin in the lineup I would only need 16.9 points which is "only" 119 yards rushing to win.

I'm contemplating giving up fantasy as well after this season. Finished the season 12-1 only to lose AB to an injury in the first half and Davante Adams to a concussion. Not to mention Russell Wilson who #### the bed for one of the few times this season. I just get too frustrated when I lose, and missing out on the championship due to some unfortunate injuries just compounds things. It also doesn't help that the guy I played had a middle of the road team and literally every player on his squad went off. Instead of congratulating him and moving on, I'm dwelling on the #### that didn't go right, despite the fact that there was nothing I could do with regards to the injuries. I've been in a sour mood since last night, which is ridiculous considering it's fantasy football. I guess it's nice to know there are others who are dealing with the same frustrations. Maybe a year away would do me some good. The league of record I'm in has a bunch of good buddies, so I should enjoy the competition and have fun. But for whatever reason, I go all-in each season and takes the wins and losses too seriously. Thanks for letting me vent.

I actually quit fantasy football for about 10 years at one point for many of the same reasons - I didn't miss it at all TBH. One guy kept inviting me into his league and I finally relented about 5 years ago, but I just told him that I'm quitting that league for next year (don't want to forget how pissed off I was due to this silly/unimportant game of FF). I'm going to stay in my work league (low cost) and will continue to dabble at DK and FD (~$20 in play each week) because I like the process of researching and all that - hopefully the lower cost of these activities won't make my as mad when I chose the wrong player or whatever.

as if yesterday wasnt bad enough... the fantasy gods chose to tease me tonight with a near miraculous comeback.... only to fall 1.2 pts short.... had murray made that kick freeman likely gets me 1.2 pts in OT....

Beat a guy 108.8 to 107.3. He only had Jameis going tonight, our league awards a 3 point bonus for 300 or more passing yards. Jameis threw for 299.
ETA: Made semis in 4 of 4 leagues, this was the only winner, or I'd be hiding belts and shoe laces.

Same with me, but I am in 3 leagues.
2 of those I had the Big Ben and Antonio Brown stack. Now my 3WRs in my biggest league will be Brandin Cooks, Sterling Shepard and Keelan Cole.
I have a chance, but not a good one. I can't complain, many things fell in my favor to make the finals. But as another poster said, it sucks to be there and not trotting out your best team/who brought ya there.....

Crazy to think about...all the players and all the plays in all the games and 1 yard can be the difference. Amazing! Been on both sides of a nail biter like that. I can tell you I would be sweating that until Thursday!

In one of the semifinals of our league, the Commissioner was playing another team. The other team was down 2 but had Sanu and Deion Jones remaining, Commissioner had Martin and Keanu Neal remaining. 2 minutes into the first quarter I get a call from the Commish saying Martin was OUT but he was running late from work so he wanted to replace him with Peyton Barber (who he had on his bench). Told him that he should contact his opponent and if he said it was okay it seemed reasonable to me - no one had scored yet. Not sure if he called him or not - but saw Barber was switched into his lineup. Game plays out and the final winds up the other team won by 1 point; but I am already aware of a special teams tackle for Neal which when credited will make it a tie. Barber scored 2.5 points. Well when it winds up in a tie, the higher seed advances according to our rules. So the guy who got to make a lineup switch after kickoff will wind up backing into a win because he was the higher seed and that extra 2.5 points is what gave him the tie (which by rules turned into a victory). What a punch to the gut.

Nothing like completely dominating all year long to go 1 and done in the playoffs. 13-1 (we have a doubleheader week), league record for points scored, and 91% winning percentage in all play. Chargers D implodes, AB gets hurt and still only lose by 14. Had the 4th highest score in the league this week. Would have beat the two other playoff teams by 15-30 points. Ugh.

Lost by 2 points with so many lost opportunities. Had at least 4 TD's taken away, 2 by M. Thomas,Hunt, and Jag D. I thought the Hunt and Jag D calls were wrong, not sure about the Thomas 2. Fournette ruled out so I had to plug in Lee. Lee, Funchess, and Graham combine for 3.9 points. Also Ju Ju running down field and nobody willing to tackle him.......
After all of that, if the Bryant 33yd FG is not blocked I go to the championship.

Started 1-5 but have won out since to make it to the championship game. Have finished 1 or 2 in points 6/9 in that time to lock up season points crown which pays $300.

Got Rodgers back, Got Kamara back. Was feeling great. Had Julio and Allen lined up against 31 and 32 Defense in WR PA.

Even if he ok'd it with the other owner - You may have set a slippery slope for others to want to make moves after kickoff's....especially in the playoffs......yikes!

I would never be a part of any league that allowed lineups to be switched after the kickoff. Terrible.
