The blind bidding for the FPC ends in a little over an hour. As you know it has a $1000 FAAB process and everyone still has $1000 in it right now. Vote in the poll what you think the winning bid will be, not what you would bid. I know some of you do not like his talent and that is fine. There is discussion on that in other threads. I want to know what the winning bid will be on Brandon Jackson. $1000 FAAB, what do you think will be the winning bid?

This is potentially the biggest fa of the season. Someone will think that, and push right to the max

I didn't say would be, or should be - just that someone will believe that and go all in

1) Every league is different - you will see a wide variety of winning bids on BJax or Vick or anyone else.

1a) You will also see teams chasing the points each week - few follow up with lots of good weeks.

2) Part of how much you would commit on one player is based on how good your team is ......a team with very few holes might only need that one player to feel it is solid for the contest

3) Almost NONE of the $900+ bids in either FFPC or WCOFF or NFFC have been anywhere close to worth it in hindsight - the one that was in my recollection was Anquan Boldin in his rookie season.

4) It is NEVER right to bid $1000 on a player - you won't be able to manage your team throughout the rest of the season

Right or wrong Captain, if you want this player in 40 minutes, what is the bid amount it would take to get him?
You want me to make your bid for you?Everyone needs to figure that out on their own - remember there are LOTS of leagues where he is not even available as he is already rostered......including mine.Bids are team/league dependent so what is right in your league is not correct in another league

Better factor in the odds that GB brings in a 2nd back, and/or whether Starks contributes in the 2nd half.

Personally I don't think Jackson is worth a team crippling bid, but I guess if I was really weak at RB I might do it.

Not true in most you can sell players for pts to get back in later fa. There is usually enough guys who don't use all their points that you can target them and get good deals for guys they want.

Maybe in YOUR league bud, but this league has NO trading and no $0 bids, so when you are out of FAAB your roster is Locked

You yelled the word "LOTS" at me and I am very saddened. I just thought you should know my pain, as I do one last bump.

Okay Velveeta - how much did you bid and what was the winning bid

In another contest in a league that draftd much earlier (May) where I had lost Ben Tate, I had very good RB (MJD, DWill, and Ricky) but had other holes so a huge bid was not going to work....but I wanted some chance to get him - or make sure the winner spent enough, so my bid was $345...................in another league for the WCOFF magazine (thus the early draft dates), Jackson was drafted but Arian Foster was not.....so with a Very Strong team and only two (currently) playable RB, I bid $947 for Foster.

We will see in the next hour how the first weeks War$ went.......

We did a three pack for $1000 and Brandon Jackson was rostered in 2 of 3 leagues. The third league was my brothers and he bid something like $841. The winning bid was $955.

BTW, Clayton in my league went for $600. $713 in my brothers.

let me start by saying none of my rbs panned out from an early draft, my top 4 are Barber, L Washington, Slaton, D Brown but I am absolutely stacked everywhere else. Anyway in this league I bid 998 and got him, another guy bid 997 so I guess my bid was just enough....

If he were available in my league, I would have bid $992 because I am RB weak also. I think that would have won in many leagues and lost in some.

In my FBGPC league, Jackson was already rostered

The "prize" available was Mark Clayton who went for $960 (a large overbid IMO but I didn't check his roster

Vick went for $257 and Hillis who we had bid "too much" on surprised me going at $634

We settled (perhaps like the Packers) for Dmitri Nance for $35

In the WCOFF mag leagues, I lost Foster $947 to an all-in $1000 (a friend but I doubt that works for him)

Jackson whom I bid $345 on went to a very good player (Lou Tranquilli) for $743

There Hillis went for a more reasonable $228 but Clayton went for $800

The bids are generally higher the first week, with players whose roles/teams changed AND the pent up excitement of the first week.....but there will be overbids in future weeks on "one hit wonders"

BJax was already rostered...I got Clayton for $301.

Funny thing is someone put a bid for Michael Clayton for $302!!!! :goodposting:

He probably thought he was bidding on Mark, not Michael...close...but funny

How can rbs not pan out in one week?

In general I agree. But with those RBs I could have told you they wouldn't pan out after 0 weeks.

I draftes August 1st and had Hardesty and Ben Tate also, went wr heavy as I have Andre Johnson, Roddy White, Brandon Marshall, Tony Gonzalez and Brady as my core. There was 5 -6 weeks between this draft and the season and there are obviously no waivers...

So you went with 2 second tier rookies and those veterans? No offense but yuck.
I have a couple other rbs (nobody great). Keep in mind this is back when Foster and Slaton were battling, if I took Foster instead (who was available when I took Slaton) I'd be looking solid. Either way I will be starting 2 TE's and 3 wr's every week that are all studs. As long as I get serviceable production from 2 rbs I will be in it. Not saying this is a great team but it is a team I felt I had to go all-in on Brandon Jackson because it was my only chance. Hindsight is 20/20

He went for the whole shot in my FPC league ($1000) and the winning bidder only has 1 K and 1D so he'll be taking a 0 on those bye weeks. That's just crazy.
