Brandon Lloyd A Bear (1 Viewer)

Bears signed Brandon Lloyd to a one-year contract.

Once a promising receiver in San Francisco, Lloyd was a huge bust after the Redskins made him rich. Perhaps he'll be hungrier now and Chicago risks little by giving him a "prove-it" contract to play under college coach Ron Turner. Lloyd could wind up starting or released by Week 1, although the latter is more likely. Mar. 7 - 4:28 pm et

Booker and now Lloyd? That is going to one amazing aerial attack with Grossman behind center.

How long before Rex is injured after taking about 6 coverage sacks a game. No O-line. No running game. No passing game. Bears 4-12 in 2008?

Fascinating that the two biggest player acquisition disasters of the Gibbs II era - Archuleta and Lloyd - both end up on the Bears . . . including via a trade in the case of Archuleta.

Folks, if you have the chance to snap up Hester for free off your WW, don't waste time doing so. I've read enough in the last 6 months from Lovie and Angelo that they have big plans for him that I don't think it's just words. And their letting Berrian go without a fight and the low level FA signings continue to show that. And I expect Bradley to be the #2 also.

Say what you want about past stats for these guys or the QBs throwing the ball, but opportunity is opportunity. Berrian had decent numbers last year, and if you can get a fantasy WR40 off the WW, that's pretty good in most leagues.

No thanks.I did not buy on Dante Hall as a WR either.Hester is a great return guy. WR? Not so much.

How about Steve Smith? He was just a return guy too.Nobody ever puts up big stats... until they do. And that starts with opportunity. If he doesn't, he doesn't, and all I've lost is some other nobody I cut from the end of my bench to pick him up. But if he does, I'm a dancing pickle!

:trainwreck:Ron Turner will be on professional suicide watch.

;) But I guess there isn't a lot of downside with Lloyd being in camp. However, I'm not bullish on him making the final roster.

GREAT SIGNING!!!!

Who is going to stop the Bears backfield and wide outs now?

Grossman, Benson, Booker, Lloyd?

Stand back and watch the score board roll!!

This is NO DOUBT the second coming of the Greatest Show on Turf.....but on grass.

Oh wait, everything I said above think the exact opposite.

I love the Bears but they continue to make me sad

I think this is a great fit for Grossman.

Lloyd can only catch balls that are "uncatchable". Throw the ball right at him and he's in trouble. If he played with Manning/Brady he wouldn't have a shot at making the team. He'll look really good chasing down Grossman's passes.

Steve Smith made his splash while Moose was still a #1WR in his prime. Hester will be scene as the only real threat on that O (which is sad to say). Smith also had several years playing WR before he broke out. Hester has 1/2 a season. I'd still pick up Devin in hopes of some great things, but I wont expect more than WR 40 numbers.

Ummm...Steve Smith was a damn good WR in college (Hester was a DB). Not really a comparison there.

Hall was a kick returner and tailback in college....a bit better comparison.

Actually, I have heard that Lloyd has no problem making circus catches - it's the ones thrown right to him that he tends to drop. Well with Rex as his QB, that shouldn't be a problem.

Sorry, the thought of another team in the NFL giving Lloyd another chance... Stop, the ribs are hurting...
