Brandon Marshall - should we revise his projections? (1 Viewer)

One of the uncertainties in going to a new team is how the player is going to be utilized, especially a WR going to what has historically been a run first offense. My thoughts were that they knew what type of player Marshall was, they paid a good bit in cash and picks to get him and they were going to use him.

Marshall has been a 100 catch wr the past 3 years and while I wasn’t sure if he was going to reach that milestone again this year (I thought 85-90) after watching him week 1 and how he was used I see no reason why he won’t get there again. Against a good pass defense he was targeted 13 times and had 8 receptions which is on par with his averages in Denver.

How are others viewing the situation? A one week anomaly and he’ll come in around 80 receptions or will he be more similar to the Bronco Marshall?

I also am upgrading my reception expectations for Marshall.

I love Marshall and think he'll finish right around 100 catches for the year. More of the same. I too, was concerned heading into week one, but like you said he was targeted 13 times, and Henne under threw him on a sure fire 54 yard touchdown.

He also had two different quarterbacks in Denver. The change in quarterback is a bigger concern than the change in team. They wouldn't have given up that much and paid as much as they are if he wasn't going to be the focal point of the offense. He's shown consistency in his receptions between two quarterbacks and the amount of separation he gets on defenders is truly unrivaled in this league. He will get 100 receptions because he's that good.
