Braylon Edwards, any reason to be optimistic ? (1 Viewer)

He was my 5th rd pick. Luckily I stole Portis at #3, ADP at #4, calvin at #6 and santonio holmes at #9. Help me feel better about Edwards. Bad pick ?

btw, 12 team league. sjax 1.02, roy williams 2.11. You dont have to worry about sjax.

There are signals by Romeo that Quinn may start next week. I don't know if that makes you feel any better, but I thought I'd throw it out.

He was better with Anderson in there... In a few weeks we will see if he becomes Quinn's #1 target.

I've been waiting for Braylon to take the next step for some time. Just when you think he's about to, he takes a step back. I guess a lot of it has to do with the situation in Cleveland & the QB carousel the past few years, but I've been disappointed so far.

He'd have presented better value in the 6th, but he's a solid WR3 with upside. I wouldn't feel comfortable with him as my WR2 but I felt that way before today's games started. He was projected at around 70-1000-6 and that still seems realistic. I think if/when Quinn starts he'll provide a bump.

They were playing the steelers and their QB's were getting sacked more often then Paris Hilton. He should do better with Anderson under center and against a team with a defense not as pass rushing happy as the steelers. When Quinn starts that will also help.

I wouldn't start him unless your desperate. I'd wait for a QB in Cleveland to prove themself.

I think he will be fine this year as with Anderson or Quinn starting, he gets an immediate upgrade (as a previous poster mentioned). Your true value pick was your 9th rd selection as HE, and not Braylon, will be your SOD

Not for me, brother.I'm giving Edwards a guaranteed start next week no matter who gets the nod at QB. Even Joey Harrington lit up Cincy's starting secondary in the 3rd preseason game. Throw in the fact that the Bengals should be able to score at will, and Cleveland figures to be throwing all day long. I see excellent upside in using him in week 2.

Anderson is a Pac10 QB...Edwards should benefit from the switch.

Quinn uses big receivers well. Saw this at ND with Samardzija and Stovall. He does that "Put it where only his guy can get it" thing to a tee. I think he and Edwards would click.

Truly wish I would have read this thread before benching him today for the likes of James Jones. Somehow got caught up in all the "Bengals are a great D start" hoopla.

That being said, this game was obviously an aberration for all involved. Is Edwards a solid RB3 from here on out? At first it looked all Jurevicious, then Winslow, then Edwards got everything.

Probably not at RB, but he's a fringe top 20 WR, so in start three WR leagues he's a go.

I'd put him at a fringe WR#2 at this point, but keep an eye on the QB's.

Agreed...I think he has a better chance than most due to his skill and that hes finally healthy, and that he has a couple yrs under his belt, to be a near weekly #2 WR though than someone youre looking to replace as your #3. In other words, he's got more upside and he should be more consistent that most in his WR range

talent wise I would put him in the same category as Andre Johnson due to his unique blend of size and speed, but I watched the game today and Anderson made some horrible horrible throws so I think he is going to be up and down, and he tends to give up a lot and drops a good amount of catches

He faces Cincy again week 16- most fantasy championship weeks. I'm sure he'll destroy their swiss cheese secondary once again. ;)

I've been waiting for Quinn to start. Didn't play him this week.
