Braylon Edwards traded to the Jets (1 Viewer)

WOW! Not sure how I feel about this. Wondering what the jets gave up. Better not have been too much.

:D

At this point, I am wondering whether he is worth whatever the Jets paid.

He has averaged around 3 catches per game for 50 yards or so over the past 20 games.

I can find WR4's that do that.

What will this mean for Cotchery?

How far up does this bump Massaquoi?

My intial impressions are Very little for Cotch, and a ton for Mass.

As a Browns fan, I say good riddance. They likely wouldn't have been willing to re-sign him anyway.

Do the Jets have any decent RT or RG depth?

Adding to those questions, how does this effect Braylon Edwards fantasy wise, both short term (redraft) and long term (dynasty)?

Fortunately for the Jets, they are a real NFL team, not a fantasy team.

Jay_Glazer jets have traded for braylon edwards. they sent two picks, wr chansi stuckey and linebacker jason trusnick to cleveland

EDIT: Per Glazer's Twitter

Yep.........just announced on Mike & Mike show. Wow.
Did Greeny rub his nipples and have an orgasm?man, Jets were flying high, I hope this does not ruin the chemistry.Wither way, stone hands an allAt 6'3" the D will HAVE to pay attention to Braylon now. This may help Cotchrey.

trusnick is mostly a ST's guy.

Dont mind giving up stuckey (while he has ability, his upside is a slightly above average slot guy). The picks are the key for me. anything higher than a 3rd, and i'd be a tad upset. If they're both 3rd's, i wont be jumping for joy, but i'd be alright with it.

Short term/redraft probably a hold. Depends how quickly he gets integrated in the offense. Not exactly an easy thing to do mid season. you've got the recent examples of Roy in Dallas last year and McCardell in San Diego a few years back.Long term/dyansty. I don't see anyway that this isn't a huge upgrade for him. He goes from a dying organization with huge QB questions to a team on the rise with a potential young stud QB.

I don't think the Jets make the deal so quick at such a surprising time unless they plan to use the guy. Rexy must feel he's got a SB caliber D, and must feel he needs a weapon on O to take pressure off Sanchez to make this team a contender. I'll bet they try to force him into production sooner rather than later.

Since he clearly can't be fully integrated into the O in a week or two, I still think he gets a lot of time on the field, running deep routes, clearing out safeties, and getting looks only if he gets way behind the D.

Does he automatically become the #1? #2?

(assuming it doesn't take him too long to pick up the offense)

Can someone answer who is now the WR to benefit and own on the Browns. Is it Cribbs or Massaquoi???

Anyone in Cleveland care to chime in?

I don't see how it's not Massaquoi. He came in along with Anderson and had a big game. Meanwhile, they've tried getting Cribbs more involved on a still-limited basis and he's been unable to do much. But I'm not watching every game, FWIW.

At first glance, I'd guess Massaquoi will be the one, and there will be a rotation at 2, between Cribbs, Furrey and Stuckey. The Browns will be able to work Stuckey in faster than the Jets will incorporate Braylon.

Massaquoi hands down. Cribbs expirement has not worked imo....not sure how long they'll keep that up with Robiskie inactive.

LOL... Bouncing between boards it's hard for me to tell who's more excited, Cleveland Fans or Jets fans....

I'd say Jets fans are still skeptical not knowing the draft picks, maybe 80% Happy. so far saying:

"THANK YOU Mangina for Sanchez and Edwards, he's done more for the Jets as a Cleveland coach"

Hoping to get a Randy Moss type change of scenery.

And I'm pretty sure Cleveland fans are 100% Happy just waiting to see the total Booty they get in return.
