Braylon Edwards (1 Viewer)

Need to figure out where i'm going with this guy. Looking for some opinions on how he will perform with Dorsey as QB.

Can dorsey be any worse then DA or Quinn?

Does edwards get worse or just keep up with the iffy play?

Thanks

If you want more opinions, the search function will reveal 99.99% of FF feel like Dorsey will not benefit anyone except possibly Heiden (Winslow out again) since he's got a noodle arm and will probably check down as much or more than Quinn.

I'm starting Holt over Edwards...unless I pickup Bess...yeah, it's ugly.

ETA: correct typo

meh... and I'm a Browns fan.

@ TN is fugly, even w/ DA or Quinn. Finnegan (sp) will be all over Braylon, and even when he's not it's doubtful Dorsey will have time to get him the ball, and even if he did, it's also doubtful BE would catch it. Classic game where team will be down on the scoreboard, forced to throw, and "should" be a decent start, but I am staying far away.

I'm plugging in either Gaffney or R Williams (JAC) vs. BE - or going w/ a 2 TE flex option (Scheffler + Cooley) over BE.

Maybe week 16, if I make it that long.

TG he's my #3 WR - anything close to last year's #s and I'd be counting and spending my playoff $ right now.

LOL! I'm doing the same thing. Just picked up Bess last night so he probably goes in over Holt. Either way, B. Edwards is on my bench.

Doesn't really matter who's throwing the rock if you can't catch. Edwards hands have already shown the loss in value. I think Troy Williamson watched a couple of the Browns games and was like "wow, this guy cannot catch"

Luckily, I have a bye so I don't have to make any decisions this week.

Next week isn't looking much better with Clev @ Philly. I may very well be starting Holt or Avery (STL vs. sea), or picking up Hester or Walter off the ww to start over him.

Week 16 Cleveland gets cincy at home, which historically has been a high scoring affair. That's really the only week I can see starting Braylon from here on out.

Can't believe I took this guy over Fitz.

Browns offense has been a total f'ing disaster. In one league, I drafted D Anderson and Winslow in round 4 and 5. Good thing I also picked K Warner. In another league I drafted J. Lewis and Edwards in round 2 and 3. Lewis has been fine, but I rarely start him. Edwards has sucked, and will continue to suck I presume. Way to screw everyone over, Browns.

This dud absolutely killed me early this year when I just kept plugging him into my lineup. And the game he went off? The first week I benched him.

No way will he ever see my starting lineup these playoffs with my other options being Cotchery, Lance Moore, Kevin Walter and Ted Ginn.

I actually love this situation. It makes it a completely worry-free decision for me to bench his useless, underachieving, no-hands having, excuse for a professional WR from here on out. Yes, I drafted him much too high.

Now is the time to trade for Edwards in dynasty leagues. That much I do know. His current value doesn't matter in dynasty leagues, unless you think the dropsy's this year are going to continue next year. I don't think his problems come close to ....let's say, Troy Williamson, so I think it's more of an anomaly.

Finnegan (sp) will be all over Braylon, and even when he's not it's doubtful Dorsey will have time to get him the ball, and even if he did, it's also doubtful BE would catch it.
Oof and  all at the same time.
painful to type... think i'm going w/ gaffney @ WR3  - maybe reggie williams if matt jones somehow finally / actually serves a suspension.this team would have KILLED my league if I'd taken Turner over BE in the 2nd. made the playoffs, but don't feel that confident about it.

I dropped Braylon in a redraft, I couldn't see any chance of starting him again this year - it was better to use his roster spot for playoff insurance.

You guys are missing 2 fantasy sleepers here!

We got a guy that can't throw, throwing to a guy that can't catch. Now what would happen if they switched positions? Both positions would be upgraded! Now all it would take is for Romeo and the current coaching staff to figure.... ahhh never mind false alarm. :bye:

The Browns best bet is if Romeo gets a concussion and takes out all of his skill players for all the 300 lb+ guys he has on the team. Rodgers would be the QB and would run up the middle every play.

LIMITED PARTICIPATION IN PRACTICE

Friday CB Cortland Finnegan (hamstring), CB Nicholas Harper (ankle)

Both CBs are ?'able... :goodposting: If these guys are not practicing (only limited on Friday), I'd think TN will probably rest them in this easy to win, meaningless game.

If both CBs are inactive, I might just have to play BE as a WR3. :bag: With Winslow out already, Stallworth doing nothing, and only Steptoe/Heiden left, who else is going to catch anything as CLE is forced to pass from the first qtr. till the end of the game?

Can Dorsey lead the way? Dink n dunk to keep a few drives alive? Dude knows the system well enough, right? I think it's safe to assume CLE isn't running effectively on TN.

I'd be more than happy w/ 60 and a TD.

Dorsey is worse than both of these qbs - he brings Edwards fantasy value down even more, unfortunately. Against Tennesee and Phil the next two weeks he will put up Torry Holt numbers, imo. After the Browns are way behind he will get some underneath stuff but with the defense playing soft they will close on him quickly to keep yac way down. He will get targets since there is no one else so maybe he is viable in PPR leagues. On a side note, what is people's recollection of wr's recovering from a season of dropping passes horribly? TO is the player that comes to mind but even when he would drop a lot of passes he would still make plays and come up with touchdowns. For Edwards, the dropped passes this year have been inexcusable - I think he led the league in drops last year and has six more than that amount already this year. All dropped passes have some impact but an impact player pulls his team up by making key catches in critical situations. Edwards has not done that this year.

Nevermind - NFLN just said both CBs are active and will play.BE back to the bench.

14 targets!!

Is there any value here for a #3 WR? Seems like he's Dorsey's security blanket...but Dorsey is just so bad that he can't make anything happen?

So not much upside here, huh? The 14 targets were useless, since the QB is so bad and he can't catch?

He caught a deep one from Cribbs in the 4th, sure looked like he got both feet in to me, but the refs called him out and Cleveland didn't challenge. You can still see flashes of the top 10 talent. Hoss is right, now (and all offseason) is the time to deal for Edwards in dynasty leagues. He'll also be a real nice WR2/WR3 next year.
