Brett Favre 2010 (1 Viewer)

Loved seeing Brett take one in the gut and throwing an int at the same time. :fistpump:
I think Favre is going to be fine after watching tonights game. He did just go up against the world champion New orleans Saints on the night they raised their banner w/out his best wr and after missing 80% of camp at 41 years old.

Give him a few (2/3) weeks to work himself back into game shape and get on the same page with his wr's and he will be fine. I doubt he puts up last years numbers, but 25-27 td's and 3,800 yards would make him a more than respectable option at qb. He will put up the same #'s as P.Rivers.

Another thing. Don't judge him on tonights game. Drew Brees didn't exactly light the world on fire. As a matter of fact their numbers were fairly similar at the end of the game. Tonight you saw the two best teams in the NFC slugging it out. When Favre faces lesser competition he will put up very good numbers.

P.S. If Rice were to come back around the mid point in the season Favre's numbers would take a good bounce.

Oof. Favre was terrible today against the Dolphins. Absolutely awful. Worst part of it too is that the Vikings will now probably make a BAD trade to acquire VJax from the Chargers this week...making bad even worse. VJax would help in 2010, but unless he's signed to a long-term deal as a part of any trade, it's just going to make the re-build that much more long/difficult.

Agreed... I'm not sure the Vikings have any choice but to go all-in and hope to win this year though.

Why? This team has major deficiencies that were obviously not overcome this off-season and would severely restrict a strong run to the superbowl. We do still have some very good young talent spread throughout the team, so why continue to sacrifice the future for a team that anyone can see will need more then just an elite WR that may or may not be able to make an immediate impact when he could play for us in week 6. Don't forget that we have the early bye so VJax wouldn't get the four games in by week 4. It's not like VJax can step in at LT and block.Maybe if we could find a way to sign Sid and VJax to a long term deal and cut Berrian, then I'd go for it but it looks like it'd cost far too much for a team that needs more then one piece.

I think they would be hurting their future to sign VJax, but they came up just short of the SB last year.Everyone finally believes this is Favre's final year and the Vikings have no replacement for him... they'll be down for a couple years after this just due to the QB position.

While I think they've made a lot of mistakes, for where they are now, they might as well take a shot at winning it this year.

Way too much optimism here. He's on his last legs, he's hobbling around on an injured ankle, he hates the coach, he lost his best WR. I think the Vikings could be a trainwreck this year.
I called it! Yes sir! Fine predicting, eh? ;)
