Myers said there is a strong possibility his hip surgery to repair a torn labrum will happen Thursday, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. The injury is similar to what Chase Utley had but the recovery time could be a little longer since Myers is a pitcher and the injury affects his push-off leg. "It should take about three months before he can get back on a mound - and then he'll have to do all it takes after that before he's back at an elite level, which could take three, four, maybe six weeks after that," team physician Michael Ciccotti said. It sounds as if there is an outside chance Myers could return at the end of September if he has no setbacks. He's probably safe to drop in non-keeper leagues.

Manager Charlie Manuel said he would prefer to keep Park in the bullpen rather than put him back in the rotation, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. The Phillies have an opening in their rotation with Brett Myers sidelined but the team is looking to call someone up from Triple-A to fill the spot rather than going back to Park.
