Brian Dawkins: Top 10 DB or quality depth? (1 Viewer)

Some fairly divergent opinions regarding Dawkins in two different FBG articles:

EOTG (Norton)- "Decent #3 starter or quality depth, inconsistency is an issue"

Value Plays IDP - "He finished last year as the #4 overall defensive back but has an ADP/ranking near #10, behind such big name youngsters as Ed Reed, Troy Polamalu and Roy Williams, all of whom I expect Dawkins to outproduce."

We'll have to wait and see. Personally I think #3 starter (implying he will finish between #25 and #36 among DBs) is a pretty drastic downgrade though. I would be elated to have him as my 2nd DB. It all depends on if you put more weight on his inconsistent numbers from 2002-2004 or his breakout last year. I'm going the safe route and assuming he ends up somewhere in between. For now I'll be writing "solid #2 with upside" next to his name. What's your take?

Ed Reed and Roy Williams in the top 3 last year??? :unsure:You do know it is 2006.

The writer just said that Dawkins #10 ADP is "behind such big name youngsters as Ed Reed, Troy Polamalu and Roy Williams", not that they finished in the top 3.

Dawkins will give up his top-5 safety spot when they pry it from his cold dead hands. He may have as many as 4 or even 5 good years left in him.
