Brien Taylor (1 Viewer)

Ugh, what could have been.

Taylor might have been anchoring the last decade of pitching, or he might have been a lefty specialist out of the pen. It's just sad we never got to know, but for a kid who grew up when the Balboni and Espinoza Yankees were not the monolyth they'd become, he was hope.

34, ridculous, he could still be contributing. Good post though, as Hughes waits on the doorstep. I've never gotten jazzed about prospects ever since this. And there have been other flops since, Ruben Rivera, Jackson Melian, Drew Henson, but Brien man, you just knew and then he was gone. I'll never begrude him though, if you have to blow out your arm, defending your brother is as good a way as any.

I think I posted this in the FFA last year....but I thought about it tonight after picking up Phil Hughes in a couple leagues, so I thought I would bring it to the baseball forum...

Do you remember just how good this kid was supposed to be....
That's a very well written story. Oh what could've been...
I thought too, that it was exceptionally well written. That is pretty tough to find on the internet. I am not sure I ever read anything by the author before or since, but this piece was a home run.
