Brodie Croyle & Cleo Lemon (1 Viewer)

Here's my opinion on these two.

Lemon- At one point I really liked him and thought he had a outside shot to be a starter at some point. But a new coach comes into town and runs out Culpepper for a 37 year old walking concussion, and drafts a QB, this coach has "putting his mark" on the program, no way he doesn't give Beck every opportunity to be the man. Lemon will be the qb for as long as He plays flawlessly. If he screws up it will be a excuse to get the rook into the game. It will take a miracle for Lemon to be a productive dynasty player. If you need a guy to play for a few weeks you can go with him as he will have Derek Anderson like pressure on him.

Croyle- I liked Croyle enough to draft him in a Dynasty league. To say he played himself out of a job in the preseason is a understatement. I watched all of his games and he was not bad, he was a disaster. I cut him. Here is how this will play out. Huard is the QB until the Chiefs are eliminated. If the Chiefs are eliminated Croyle will be given a audition for his own job next year. If he flourishes he will be allowed to come back and compete with whatever qb they draft or bring in, if he fails he won't even be a part of the qb competition next year and is gone for good.

Summary

This year

Lemon for 3-6 games then a goner

Croyle 3-4 games at the end of the year then a goner with the slimmest chance of succeeding in the future.

Remember though - Lemon was w/ Cam^2 in SD. Cam^2 allegedly was upset that AJ traded him away. I agree that Beck will be the man long term, but I think lemon may have a longer leash than you imply.

Well that's actually a surprise to me. I thought Herm would use Huard's injury as an excuse to give Croyle some playing time without having to proclaim that Huard had lost his job due to poor performance. CIN also appeared to be a very good opportunity to start Croyle against a poor passing defense. The upside for KC continues to be nonexistant. Herm and/or Carl continue to play it so conservative that they're falling flat on their faces. Perhaps the most disappointing thing about this is their lack of confidence in their QB of the future. They refuse to play for next year yet. They still think they can get into the playoffs with run, run, run in the first half and chuck and duck in the second half after they're down by 10.

LJ's running like Cedrick Benson, Priest Holmes is calling out LJ for not running with any creativity, the OL flat out sucks and the only thing holding it all together is a defense that has played well and some brilliant physical plays by rookie WR D Bowe.

If Huard remains the starter, a reasonable person can predict a record of 8-8 at the very best. Why is this acceptable to Carl and Herm? Why didn't they just blow it up? At this point, I doubt if most fans have much confidence left in Carl Peterson let alone Herm Edwards.

As a KC Chiefs fan, I'm ready for a change at the very top. Peterson has been a reasonably good GM but the best that you can say about him is that he kept KC from being a laughing stock franchise. He didn't lose big but he never won big enough either. I don't think KC can win a Superbowl with Carl Peterson because he plays not to lose instead of playing to win the whole thing.

Meanwhile, back on topic: I wouldn't be completely surprised to see a Croyle get in the CIN game if we see Huard continue to struggle. Last week when Croyle came in, the offense actually started to move the ball quickly down the field and Croyle through a bullet for a TD. If you've got room for Croyle even though you can't play him this week, it might be worth the roster spot to grab him before you have to try to compete for him on the waiver wire next week.

Try playing in a start 2 QB league before you tell us these guys don't have any value. Makes you look really naive!
Now THAT is the most ridiculous thing I have heard in here possibly ever. Can you show me where an NFL starts 2 QB's on their team? Talk about stupid. Why would anyone ever play in a league that stupid? The reason for 2 QB's only plus a rookie squad (which could be a 3rd QB) is that you have 9 starters and 9 reserves. This was a standard setup 15+ years ago when we started.

Start 2 QB's is by far the dumbest thing I have ever heard in fantasy football.
Thanks for your helpful input. Enjoy your vacation from the boards, and refrain from calling people dumb when you get back. TIA.MW

In response to your highlighted points "refuse to play for next year" As sad as it is they are tied for first in their division. FIRST. I don't know of anyone who would pack it in for next year when they are still very much alive this year. Croyle was awful and the Chiefs made a decision in the preseason that Huard will not lose them games like Croyle and is safer, Croyle showed that he could flush a game easily.(Think Griese and Grossman) I am sure that they are hoping to get the running game going and make the playoffs , and since through 5 weeks no team in their division has more than 2 wins 8-8 looks like it may be a division winning record.

I don't think that Herm sees the season as lost and he doesn't think Croyle is a Upgrade over Huard.
