Broncos at Falcons (1 Viewer)

NFL can't be happy. Officials taking a beating by all of the announcers. Thursday and Sunday games this week were terrible to watch. Last week Ravens blew out Bengals and Oakland was terrible let alone the 10:30 start time. Can't imagine ratings being good.

The debut of Thursday Night Football in September was a success for NFL Network.Overnight ratings showed a 6.3 rating for the Packers' 23-10 victory over the Bears in Green Bay, setting a record for the network's Thursday game coverage
That being said, they are in danger of killing the golden goose. The NFL has unprecedented popularity and it's risking the game's integrity over small change.

I can't believe the ticky tac stuff that was getting called PI early in the game. At the end of the game, Decker was getting mugged by the Atlanta corners and no call.

Ok, I am sad Denver lost, but guess what, if the regular refs come back next week, we will all be complaining about bad calls.

I agree over saturation will lead many non hardcore guys to stop watching every game possible and just watch their own teams. I believe you'll see ratings continually decline.

does anyone really think there's a risk? unless the players strike over this or something why would the NFL care? Ratings arent impacted, and it's not hurting the bottom line.

As much as I wanted more nights of football, it is tough devoting another 4 hours (with current game times) to watch it. If guys on here were complaining about the quality of play, imagine the average person watching the refs take 10 minutes to make a simple call. And there is speculation about games possibly moving to other nights. The younger people don't seem to mind much but many older folks can't keep up with all the games and can't stay up late.

both games of the MNF opening night were crap this year - that has more to do with it than anything.

Can somebody explain how the Falcons got the ball on the Moreno turnover when a Bronco came out of the pile with the ball?

Because the Falcons recovered it, the signaled Atlanta ball, and then several seconds after the play was over the Denver guy ripped it away.

would have been nice if the refs had given an explanation. Still trying to figure that one out.

Orlando Franklin was on with Sandy Clough and he said it was a BS call because he had recovered the ball.
yeah, that's what I figured.
