Brown vs Maroney (1 Viewer)

I wanted to see what everyone thought about my fantasy keeper dilema. I have both Maroney and Ronnie Brown but we only have one keeper in my league. Everywhere I go people are claiming that I have to keep Maroney but I am personally leaning towards Brown. Other than missing 3 games due to a broken hand last year, he was very consistent for me and that was on a horrible team. My league is PPR and the dolphins seem improved. Maroney scares me with his injuries and I am not sure how they are going to get the ball to everyone in that offense.

What do you think?

Tough call, but I have a higher ceiling for Maroney than Brown. With it being a keeper league, though Brown should be good for a long time, I think Maroney is in a situation to be great.

Supporting cast is very important when it comes to RB success. Given that Maroney plays with a much better supporting cast than Brown and appears to be a comparable talent, I'd lean heavily towards Maroney.

 Maroney.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I agree that Maroney has great upside. Is nobody concerned about his injury history or the fact that Belicheck doesn't ever favor one part of the offense?

Dillon had some good years in NE. Even Antowain Stiff did ok for the Pats. Belicheck isn't dumb. He'll utilize his best players. The Dolphins could surprise this season with Green in the fold, but I still expect the Patriots to be a much better offense. It's a lot easier for a good offense to carry a running back than it is for a good RB to carry an offense. So even if Brown is more talented than Maroney, he probably won't score more FF points. I used to be a big fan of preaching that talent should be the primary concern when drafting players, but I've since come to realize that situation plays a huge role in RB success. Put Steven Jackson on the Browns and he'd be a fringe top 10 back. Put Carnell Williams on the Colts and he'd be a top 10 pick in every league. The moral of the story is that when it comes to RBs who are similar in talent, you have to factor their situation into your projections. The Patriots have a better QB, better WRs, a better OL, and a better defense. That said, the optimism for Maroney around these parts is a bit premature. His rookie year was a mixed bag. And while there's no obvious challenger on the roster, I think we could see Sammy Morris assume a bigger role than what's widely expected.

Maroney no doubtDillon should teach about it.I think Miami is still far from a good team, and I suppose they will be playing from behind so many times, abandoning running game

in ff, different people weight consistency vs. upside differently. if your gut tells you brown, i don't see anything wrong with that; nothing worse than going against your gut only to have been right....

Cam Cameron seemed to get some pretty good production from his last RB. :scared: The OL is a major work in progress, but he did the same thing in San Diego and turned it around pretty qucik.
