Browns DEF (1 Viewer)

anyone else thinking about going with them this week? they are most likely on the wire in most 10-12 team leagues, and get the worst offense in the league at home.

Picked them up last week, had an extra roster spot and new I would use them this upcoming week. Used Baltimore this week someone had dropped them, and Bucs two weeks ago, making it 3 weeks in a row against Carolina.

Yepper.And I might start Phil Dawson too. --->>> See Cundiff.Carolin's not only been golden for opposing DST's, but kickers too.

ditto... I picked them up last week too. I had Baltimore and Cle in my roster this weekend, they scored 24 and 23 pts this past week.

I picked them up last week out of desperation after getting negative points from my carousel of D's 3 of the past 4 weeks. They rewarded me with a great game on the road in Jax yesterday, and then face the Panthers this week. I assume the Panthers are way up there, if not at the top of the list of offenses you want your fantasy defense to face. Their schedule is nice going forward too.

Car

@Mia

@Buf

@Cin

Bal

Pit

Bal/Pit is not great, and Buffalo's offense has been playing well, but Car, Mia, and Cin have been generous to fantasy defenses. Even pit is not terrible given their offensive line issues, but thats week 17 anyway. Cleveland fits in well with a defensive rotation. When Cribbs comes back, you also get the threat of a kick return if that matters in your league. Arizona's D is terrible, but they also have some nice matchups coming up. I grabbed both of them and will play the matchups. Patchwork strategy for sure, but if you dont have a reliable D, it may be a decent strategy.

Arizona's schedule:

SF

SL

Den

@Car

Dal

Not a scary offense on there, and you get another opportunity to face Carolina - likely in week one of the playoffs. Lot of home games too.

Good defense even with Eric Wright, once he got hurt the defense was lights out....well, except for that one back breaking play that ended up leading to the L they're incorrectly getting blamed for around here even though the offense only scored 3 points off 5 turnovers by the D.

Anyway, sorry for the rant - these guys are good, start 'em.

any concern about the browns giving up after that demoralizing loss to the jags. i picked them up last week for the carolina and miami games but now im a bit skeptical.

My strategy for the rest of the year is to start every defense that plays Carolina. With the exception of Pittsburgh in week 16, all of them(Clev, Seat, Atl, Ariz) are on my waiver wire and likely most waiver wires.

I play in a league that closed the WW last week and decided the rest of the way to go with the Browns and Colts. 12 team league with most everyone carrying two defenses so pickings were slim. You won't consider either of these defenses great but both fly well under the radar and produce most weeks. The reason the Browns Defense caught my eye is they played Atlanta, Pittsburgh, New Orleans, New England, and the Jets in consecutive weeks and the defense and special teams kept them in most games. I figure if they can keep most of those teams in check and have Ryan as coordinator they should do alright. This was also the best schedule I could come up with and both teams seem to play best against shakier QB's. I started the Browns this week and was very happy with the results.

The rest of the year outlook for me will be:

Week 11 - Browns vs Carolina

Week 12 - Browns vs Miami

Week 13 - Browns vs Buffalo or Colts vs Cowboys

Week 14 - Browns vs Cincinnati or Colts vs Tennessee

Week 15 - Colts vs Jacksonville

Week 16 - colts vs Oakland

The week that scared me the most when I did this was week 14, but now week 13 looks much worse. I'll play the QB match ups and just go with who ever has the weaker QB on deck in weeks 13-14. Hope this works

I'm thinking of grabbing them but can't decide if they would be a better play than the Jets D against the hopeless Bengals. The Jets D has put up just 2 double digits games all season, but then again I picked them up specifically just for this game.

seriously?? one of the best rushing offenses against one of the softest rush defenses??? advantage: Oakland. McFadden will chew them to bits..do you have other options?
