Because they know what they have. Why is Best on the sidelines after that unbelievable success on the first drive?
Yep.May not see him again til the games count.Because they know what they have. Why is Best on the sidelines after that unbelievable success on the first drive?
I doubt we see J Best the rest of the game. So if this is the story of his night, those of us with drafts this next week are screwed.I have the #2 spot tommorow and hope to get him at 3.2I hope to get AP, Calvin, Best
They will give him a series next week.Yep.May not see him again til the games count.Because they know what they have. Why is Best on the sidelines after that unbelievable success on the first drive?![]()
Yeah, but they know what they have with Stafford, Johnson, et al as well.Because they know what they have. Why is Best on the sidelines after that unbelievable success on the first drive?

Suits me fine, as I am drafting tonight. They wanted to see what Smith looked like against the starters.Yeah, but they know what they have with Stafford, Johnson, et al as well.Because they know what they have. Why is Best on the sidelines after that unbelievable success on the first drive?
Agreed. It looked like he was trying to get the cap off of a pickle jar.I know it was a penalty and all, but Mr. Suh is a scary looking guy.
Schwartz doesn't care about winning this game. Defensive guy, likes quick moving, low scoring games in the preseason if he had a choice. I'm guessing he loves that Cleveland is showing this look on offense though.Don't understand why they would pull him, as I thought these 3rd preseason were often used to mimic regular season game situations, and I can't imagine them pulling him for much time at all if they really wanted to win a game. I think they will need to bring him back into this game if they have any hope of winning.

Unlike previous head coaches with the Detroit Lions, Jim Schwartz isn't going to use the third game of preseason as a dress rehearsal for his players.
Instead, he's still in training camp mode.
The players will play longer, with most starters expected to go into the third quarter, but the Lions will not treat the Cleveland Browns any differently than their first two preseason opponents.
"We're not really game planning,'' Schwartz said. "We won't have anything new for this game, but we are doing kind of a dry run of taking the players through a week of preparation. It won't be a game plan, per se. We won't have new plays up specifically for that team.''
I was talking about the 3/4You sure he wasn't talking 1.12? I think there was some sarcasm over the folks moving these guys up the boards. On the same note though if you don't get Best on the 1/2 turn you might not get him on the 3/4 turn anymore.I am not seeing him make it to 3.12, but maybe.Drafting from the uno deuce sport..I might just go Finley and Best back to back.
Replace Suh and Best with K. Jones and R. Williams and we have the same exact quote we were seeing on this board in 2004 (minus the Millen part). Hopefully these two will turn out better than them.Suh and Best- what a start to a draft. Aren't you Lion fans glad you don't have Matt Millen anymore? You know he would have missed out on both those guys in favor of two wideouts.
Even Millen would have gotten Suh right. The Lions caught some grief for moving up and getting Best, but it may have been the best move in the draft.Suh and Best- what a start to a draft. The lions only have 5 players on defense that should be starting in the NFL...let's not get ahead of ourselves. Now excuse me while I unveil my 2010 QB Strategy Thread.Hillis ... strong like bull.![]()
And play every game against the Browns?I drafted Best in my first 2 drafts earlier this week. Both 12 team leagues. Got him at 4.11 & then 5.2. He'll be my FLEX that I anticipate will finish with low end RB1 or solid RB2 numbers. The kid just needs to stay healthy.
Best will be a top 10 back even when he is not playing against the Browns. And play every game against the Browns?I drafted Best in my first 2 drafts earlier this week. Both 12 team leagues. Sounds like he will be OK, but he's no kid. This is his 10th season and 5th team.sorensen took a lick. hope the kids ok.
The Lions offense will be in the top 10. Huge upgrade to their running game and that along with a better offensive line will make Stafford a much better QB in his second year. Will be a fun team to watch again. Haven't been excited to watch the Lions play since #20 retired.I've never reeeallly seen much of Mathew Stafford, but I am overwhelmingly impressed with how poised he looks standing in the pocket, given he may not be facing the best DL, but still.![]()
And he means Billy Sims!Haven't been excited to watch the Lions play since #20 retired.
Anxiously waiting for that. The lions only have 5 players on defense that should be starting in the NFL...let's not get ahead of ourselves. Now excuse me while I unveil my 2010 QB Strategy Thread.Hillis ... strong like bull.![]()
Groin injury. Unsure of the severity.Did I read somewhere that Levy got hurt again?? :X
Got him at 3.11 two nights ago and Spiller at 4.2. Really liking this.Got him last night at 3.10. Lots of funny looks after my pick. My league now knows they were drafting with a Hawk last night.
I read that he would train by strapping his dad's pickup truck to himself, pulling it up and down the driveway and by pulling tractor tires across a plowed field.Hillis pulled tractors up hill for training in HIGH SCHOOL .... did you know ?
I was the one who made the comparison to Sanders, and I only did it in terms of that stop and start he made on the catch. Overall I would be extremely hesitant to compare ANYONE to Barry Sanders, who remains the greatest running back I have ever seen.Just saw the Best highlight, nice run but the comparisons to Barry are going too far. Also, I think Barry makes it to the end zone on that run, with more amazing cuts than Best did.
