Browns WRs vs. Steelers DBs (1 Viewer)

For the first time in many a moon I think, let me say again I THINK, the Browns will actually generate some serious offense against the Steeler's this weekend. I mean everyone is throwing on us and until we generate a pass rush, this trend will continue.

Troy questionable

D Townsend probably out

Ike is playing like garbage

etc....

The Steelers D is laughable at this point. They are giving up chunks of yards...Frye could have a career day against us, everyone else is. We even made Vick look like a capable QB

The Soulja and B Edwards - We know the weapons the Browns have on offense, can the Steeler's stop them or at least contain them? Edwards all but guaranteed a victory. Granted it was not a Joey guarantee

I do like the matchup for the Browns but the last time Edwards shot his mouth off (against Carolina) he played like crap. He needs to shut up and play.

To be fair, I don't think losing D Townsend is a net loss. I wish him well as he's been a good team guy for a long time, but McFadden should be starting over there IMO. If Polo misses this game it's going to be very bad for the Defense in all aspects.

I'm not overly worried about KWII, Braylon and the Browns offense, unless Troy is out.

Well to get the ball downfield, the Browns will have to protect Frye, something they haven't been doing a great job of so far. They gave up sacks left and right to the backup DEs for Atlanta. I think the steelers will get a lot of pressure on Frye, and the CBs will not be exposed as bad this week as they have been lately.

I think Polamalu being out helps Winslow a lot more than Edwards. You can expect a solid game from Winslow, he gets 50% of the targets anyway.

I doubt the Browns can win, but this should be a game with a lot of offense.

As a Browns' fan, I'm still nervous due to last year's 41-0 shutout. It's going to be a long day for the Browns' offense (and me cuz I'm going to the game), but I can see K2 putting up some numbers.

That's what makes KWII so good this year. Frye doesn't have much time so he dumps it off to his crutch. Edwards is another story. He's a lot more hit or miss because it's much more random that he gets open.

The Steelers have proven they can lose to anyone but I think as long as they protect the ball they'll win this game easily, especially if Polamalu plays.

Then again I thought the Steelers would beat Oakland...

Browns are currently rated 30th is Run Offense. That's the key I see. If the Steelers can contain their running game with a minimal amount of personnel, then they'll have the ability to send more people into coverage. Browns passing game is in the bottom 10. It's not the Saints #1 rated passing game. Just my 2 cents. Then again, as Godsbro says, this should have worked against the Raiders and it didn't.

Yes it did. They gave up less than 100 yards of total offense.

Expect a low scoring game whoever wins. Special teams could be the difference in this one.
:goodposting: This is how to look at this game. The Browns offense has not scored more than 25 all year- they're not going to suddenly put up big numbers against the Steelers. Additionally the Browns defense has been very stout all year (maybe not in terms of rushing yardage, but certainly in pass defense and red zone defense). Special teams may play a big part, and the Browns have the #1 special teams unit in the league...We'll see what happens. Like a previous poster said, this game went 41-0 last year.
