Bryce Brown anything to see here? (1 Viewer)

Grabbed D.Wilson off the waiver wire this week after his breakout ...now i have to decide between him and Brown as my flex.My league rewards kickoff returns...im so confused :wall: ...i need some word on wilson before tonight's game...i just feel like thursday night games are un-reliable fantasy wise as of late

I need to decide whether I can trust Brown enough to start him over either Reggie Bush or Danario Alexander. I'm terrified of leaving him in my lineup tonight and seeing 14 carries for 32 yards to be honest. His first two games were hard to ignore, I didn't expect similar in Tampa but figured he might get me 70 and a td. Struggling with this lineup decision more than any other this year.
I've decided to go with the higher upside in Brown over Reggie Bush. I just think the precense of Thomas in Miami to vulture carries from Bush is what did it for me. Brown might lose a couple touches to Lewis, but he should be in on more plays giving him more opportunity to blow through the Cinci D for a few long runs.I also have the Cinci D starting even with Brown in my lineup. I think both will have good point production. Lots of sacks and an INT or two for the Bengals, and Brown should get 90 total yards and a touchdown...I hope.

I find the idea that people are considering benching Brown for Wilson to be kind of amusing. I'm not saying it's totally irrational (although you're taking a big chance that Bradshaw doesn't play), but it says a lot about the effect of recency bias on fantasy football decisions.

ya, i think you gotta roll with brown over wilson given the schedule. if it was certain that bradshaw would sit, then i like wilson, but if bradshaw plays it will render wilson far less optimistic.

Was all set to roll with Brown for as long as McCoy was out, but his turd last week gives me pause. Now considering inserting McFadden back in the lineup over Brown.

Also unsound logic, but I play against Brown in 2 of my 4 semifinal matchups so I'm considering starting Brown in the one league I own him in so that I'd at least benefit in one league to offset the two that a big game from him would hurt me in. Hate fantasy football playoffs, because it's where I always overthink these decisions.

Some food for thought on tonight's game against the Bengals.

This is what the Bengals defense has surrendered to opposing RBs catching the ball:

Bengals vs. RBs catching the ball

WK OPP REC YDS

1. @BAL 3 REC 25 yards

2. CLE 10 REC 109 yards

3. @WAS 5 REC 33 yards

4. @JAX 11 REC 84 yards

5. MIA 3 REC 32 yards

6. @CLE 5 REC 31 yards

7. PIT 2 REC 10 yards

8. - BYE -

9. DEN 3 REC 16 yards

10 NYG 3 REC 14 yards

11. @KC 9 REC 69 yards

12 OAK 10 REC 66 yards

13. @SD 10 REC 68 yards

14 DAL 7 REC 66 yards

Receptions given up to Rbs all year

81 receptions for 623 yards

Approximately ~ 6 receptions per game

For 47.9 yards per game

Last four games:

Approx ~9 REC for 67 yards

I've had a hunch that Bryce Brown would do damage against the Bengals catching the ball before I looked up how the Bengals did against RBs catching the ball. I didn't know the last four games they would give up that many catches and that much yardage per game recently.

RB Bryce Brown's floor in tonight's game seems like it should be high. Even if he only gets half of the receptions and yards catching the ball that the Bengals have given up recently he should have 4-5 receptions for 30-35 recieving yards even before he has one carry. I would imagine the absolute worst we can expect is 12-15 carries for 35-40 yards without a TD for a floor of 65 to 75 combined yards.

That is a pretty high floor IMHO.

I don't think its beyond reason he gets more yardage or breaks a long run or has one score either rushing or receiving.

Good research Bracie Smathers

Makes me feel better about starting Brown given my league is PPR. I'm hoping that he can make up for a potentially weak run game with activity in the pass game. If he can get 4 receptions for 30 yards, that is 7 points right there. On top of rushing yards and hopefully a TD.

I agree that, as long as Foles looks for the dump off regularly, he does have a high floor. Combined with a high ceiling, makes for a solid play.

I have other options, so I'm not risking another stinker like last week. I could see the Bengals scoring early and forcing Foles to pass a lot in the 2nd half.
I've changed my mind.I'm starting Brown over Mathews and Wilson.Anybody else rolling with him tonight?

Deciding on two among McFadden, Moreno and Brown. I've excluded Ridley and Leshoure. It's painful.
I've got Ridley, Leshoure, Brown, and McFadden to pair up with Martin. Going DMC. I like Brown a lot, but DmC has a better matchup, IMO, although I'm not convinced its the right move.

Feel like it would be foolish to give up on this guy after one bad game, very few RBs have had the kind of game he's had in his first 2 starts. I'm willing to give him in the benefit of the doubt for last week, and am rolling him out this week as my RB2. Now, if he disappoints again, then sure, we'll have something to worry about. My prediction:19carries 91yds 1TD, 4rec 28yds
Good golly this would work for me. I fear the eagles shutdown and Thursday games. Luckily I've been drinking and don't plan on stopping.

ive got mediocre RB hell.

Forte

B Brown

K Moreno

Sproles

Shonn Green

Going with Forte, Moreno, .......and Green at this point.

confidence in Brown is down, and sproles is literally a 30% chance to score more than 11.

Probably change that line up a few more times.

Now that it's pretty much a given that Bradshaw won't play, I'm just going to leave Brown on the bench and start either Cobb or Wilson in my flex spot.

I've been trying to decide between Alfred Morris, Law Firm, and Brown. Right now, I have Morris in my line up as the "safe" choice. I think Brown has more upside but last week's floor really concerns me.

Is it a given? I'm in a similar situation. I'm trying to decide between Brown or Wilson. I want to start Wilson, but only if Bradshaw is out for sure. If I pass on Brown tonight and Bradshaw ends up playing, then I'm stuck having to start SJax...could be worse, but I'd rather start Brown over SJax....so i either risk having to start SJax or just start Brown tonight.

Starting Bryce in two leagues, I had a bye last week in both so other than total points( which pays $$ too) he didn't kill me. In one league I really don't have other options to go along with Foster, in the other I have both Trent and Alf and I'll end up benching one of them. GL everyone, hoping he has another big prime time night for us.

I am in 2 leagues...I feel like all the Brown owners should stand in a circle before the game and do some sort of ritual... a rain dance of sorts

According to Rotoworld, Bradshaw looks doubtful and might not even make the trip. I'm going to bench Brown and hope either Cobb or Wilson can put up similar numbers, if not more.

Trying to decide between Moreno, Bryce, Wilson, and Sproles (.5PPR/Return) scoring for RB2 & Flex. Still haven't made up my mind on whether to risk Brown tonight. I hate Thursday games!

Not trying to make Brown owners nervous, but his floor is 6 yards.
Last week scared me, short week scares me. I am going with Wilson. I have no other options at RB in another league, so have to go with Brown there, so if he goes off, won't be a total loss. Hopefully Wilson and Brown go off.

After weighing out the option of using Reggie Bush over Bryce Brown, I've decided to roll with Brown. His upside is just too good to pass up. And even though I'm starting the Bengals DST, I feel confident that both will produce points for me.

:fingerscrossed:

that made me spit my Coke out, funny stuffI have a brown vs demarco decision to make in next 10 minutesleaning murray simply because i have the better team so need the high floor murray more than the risk of low floor/high ceiling brown

Sitting him in favor of DMC, Spiller and Alfred. Ill have the same problem come Sunday morning when I have to bench one of them too. Hes going to bounce back this week though, got that feeling....

Despite last week's stinker, I'm starting Brown tonight, and DeMarco Murray Sunday, over Sproles.

I'm a Bengals homer, and I can't recall them playing well in primetime since the days of Jeff Blake to Carl Pickens. I know folks are down on Andy Reid, but I'm certain he can still outcoach Marvin Lewis, and I'm confident there will be scoring opportunities for Brown tonight.

Good luck to us all!

I see most people are sitting Brown because they have better options at RB. I'm starting Brown because I don't. And this was even before Fred Jackson and Donald Brown went on IR.

So if Brown goes off, great. If he doesn't, I didn't have much choice.

What a worthless pile of excrement.

Thanks for the help in week 12 and 13, followed by completely gutting my team in the playoffs, Brown.

the play calling... 1st and goal at the 2... shotgun formation, pass for example...

another time, instead of a run from the 5, they try a fancy inside toss pass which was incomplete...

overall, philly gets inside the 10 and it's pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass... ugh... brown had a run up the middle from the 12 to the 2 even... why not continue that I don't know... :wall: :wall:
