I didn't start a thread for him last year because UDFA not expected to make the team whatsoever.
From like 13th on the depth chart to start camp, to PS, to playing.
He had a terrific summer.
He was eventually challenged to not just make catches but also contribute on ST and became their gunner.
During the season, he made six catches. Callahan consistently said he deserves to play more and then didn't play him more.
The Titans WRs were bad in 2024.
His six catches were curiously in pretty key situations and tough plays. Imagine a third down in week 5, a third in week 7 etc.
I wanted him to play more and was getting frustrated. It never happened. The best we got was like a bunch more snaps when they were running the ball.
He has some muscle and toughness to him. He has an outstanding ability to get the ball. Ol Calvin was glorious reaching that long arm and pluck "mine." Oliver is not that. He's all effort. He's diving or jumping or hip checking or ...he IS getting it. I love this about him. This alone makes him better than so many young WRs I've seen the last decade and they all somehow look like divas after seeing him. Ya definitely have to see it. It'll make you pause and think wait a sec, why don't others do this?
Callahan has consistently said he is the starter all off-season. He praised him at the Combine and on national TV.
Full of sarcasm in shark pool style, I said "the best six catch WR ever!"
GM Borgonzi discussed Oliver and how he is exactly what they hope the drafted WRs become. During the draft process it became easier to just use his name when discussing potential WRs.
Tyler Lockett said he thinks between Jarvis Brownlee and Bryce, the Titans have two of the best players no one seems to know about.
Ridley has been telling the rookies the importance of special teams because once they added Lockett, they had their third starter.
So...
They didn't draft a WR early as expected and apparently there's quite a lot of faith in this six catch kid.
We don't do threads on every single player and UDFAs that barely play and...at some point- probably now- I'm a fool for not having started one.
I'll believe it when he actually plays a lot but I can't deny that all these quotes are exactly what ya want to hear either.
