David Price (elbow) will be shut down for 7-10 days but does not need surgery after receiving a second opinion from Dr. James Andrews and Dr. Neal ElAttrache.
Price didn't even receive a platelet-rich plasma injection, as he was simply prescribed a bit of rest. Red Sox manager John Farrell referred to the news regarding his left-hander as the "best-case scenario" after it looked like Price might have a serious elbow injury. Price certainly isn't out of the woods yet, as he's still very much a question mark for Opening Day. Still, this is terrific news for Boston.
