I've looked at him my last two picks but WIS hates his defence and I don't know if he has pop without steroids and the steals mean less to me here than they would in a traditional fantasy league. He has seemed like the top guy left for a while though.

The steroid pop makes me leary, but WIS liked his speed/defense enough last year to give him a 90 speed and A/B in the field. Plus he moves to CF this year in real life, so maybe that helps a little more.

Yeah, he's hard to read because last year is his best WIS defence but worst offence and the offence is questionable because of steroids. If he's 2016 stats with 2017 defense, he's a steal here, obviously.

I had like three BTTF seasons where he was my partner and those were all losing seasons.  If you removed him from the equation, my all-time winning percentage would be close to .550 IMO.

Last year I won 85 games which I think was my best return, and I drafted Matz as my #2 and G Richards as my #3 starter.  I had a lot of PAs and enough innings and managed my team well enough that I was in the playoff hunt. 

BTTF has a big learning curve IMO, and taking Tijuan Walker in the 5th round is an acquired taste.  I mostly do this to get ready for FB season, and I DO NOT use any WIS references for research.  That's probably part of my issue.  I'm pretty good at the historical ones though.

Yeah, couple injuries in BTTF and you're toast. Can be left scrambling for innings or PAs just to field a valid roster. I do enjoy the drafting, great fantasy prep.

We're due for a historical draft, maybe over the summer when we hit the dog days.

There really aren’t any WIS resources you can use for this, since there aren’t any stats. In reality these 3 things will get your team near .500

1. Draft enough innings pitched. Whatever you think you need, add 50%. Then double it to account for injuries, poor seasons, and juiced balls. 

2. Have some decent projections and depth charts. Most projections deal with 3 year averages so as long as players don’t get hurt you shoujd get a decent baseline of stars. 

3. Get lucky with injuries. No explanation needed. ?

Ive generally taken a go big or go home approach, with some pretty solid results - but I had about 6 or so miserable seasons after my first two championships in the historic leagues where the league had caught up to whatever strategies I was using, and I was just lost.  But reconfigured my approach over the last few to grab two more rings. Been twice the bridesmaid in this format though, really should have one the first year, losing to RnR I think in game 7. My second WS appearance was not as good a team, and last year I have no idea how my team won 100+ games, but I'll take it.
