BTTF 2018: MLB123746 (1 Viewer)

I've almost drafted this guy for a few rounds now.  He was great for me last sim and ends up with good defense, power, and obp.  In short, you are all morons for letting him drop this far.  I had a whole different plan for this part of the draft, but you are idiots.

of Steven Souza, jr.

@Greco

Everyone else is doing it

CA: ?

1B: Carlos Santana

2B: Joe Panik

3B: Justin Turner

SS: Jorge Polanco

OF: Bryce Harper, Andrew McCutchen, ?

I think I have a nice core but the last few picks have really fallen off.  I will need to get lucky with some of the later round picks

SPs: Jose Quintana, Jon Lester, Dan Straily, Jake Faria, Jhoulys Chacin, Kyle Gibson

If they come close to last years production, I will have innings.  Not good ones but a quite a few of them.

Don't want to feel left out

CA - Buster Posey

1B - Miguel Cabrera

2B - Dustin Pedroia

3B - Zack Cozart

CF - Ender Inciarte

RF - David Peralta

SP - Corey Kluber

SP - David Price

SP - Julio Teheran

SP - Michael Wacha

RP - Craig Kimbrel

When Cabrera and Pedroia and Price revert to their 2014 form you guys are fu ked

C Chris Iannetta (COORS)
1B Edwin Encarnacion
2B/3B Asdrubal Cabrera
1B/2B/3B Matt Carpenter
OF/2B/3B/SS Marwin Gonzalez
OF Mookie Betts
OF Mitch Haniger

I have no idea what kind of fielding ratings and at what positions some of these guys will have.  Could be huge, could be devastating.

SP Luis Severino
SP Michael Fulmer
SP Alex Wood
SP Mike Leake
SP Mike Minor

Reasonably happy with 1-4.  Possibly going for higher risk/higher reward guys with the rest, like I did last year snagging Berrios/Severino.

SS Lindor - S
1B Freeman - L
RF Hoskins - R
3B Shaw - L
LF someone awesome
CF Hicks - S
C Zunino - R
2B Gennett - L

SP1 Castillo
SP2 Anderson
SP3 Morton
SP4 Mikolas
SP5 Kuhl

SPs are a little bit unpredictable and unproven. Candidate to lead the league in HRs and HRs allowed.

right now;

gardner, lf

piscotty, rf

murphy, 2b

suarez, 3b

gregorius, ss

adam jones, cf

sal perez, c

1b

sale, samardija, lynn, estrada

no real offensive stars, though murphy was a sim monster.  just some solid PAs all having a chance for 20+ hrs.

no matter, this is all about Pitching.....

C - two slugs TBD

1b Yuli Guriel - hits the ball really hard and hardly ever strikes out

2b - Whit Merrifield - I picked him up on waivers in a head to head league last year and he brought be great happiness. If he's 80% of his offense and remains a plus defender, I'm satisfied.

SS - Carlos Correa - so young. so big and strong

3B Bregman - Very toolsy and savvy. but also has some god-kissed attributes that cannot be taught. He and Correa can carry this entire team.

RF - Justin Upton - I keep believing he's not as good as he proves to me most every year. Finally, I'll bite

CF - George Springer - CF , WS MVP seems in a different zone now.

LF - tbd

SP - Luke Weaver - rolling the dice hoping he's studly

SP - Dilson Lamet - Should get me lots of innings

SP - Clevinger -maybe talent, maybe innings, maybe one or neither

SP - Davies - Lots of low quality innings

SP -Urena - more mediocre innings

SP/RP -Alex Reyes - All that talent and such a layoff. Maybe a Brad Peacock type year, starting in the pen and advancing to a starting role around the break? Maybe he'll suck, tho

I hoping to score enough on offense that a pitching staff with a 5.08 ERA wins a lot of games. I plan on not getting effed by fatigue this season

Pretty good team for not having a pick in the first four rounds.

Something else we need to do eventually is a historical sim of the BTTF years. Maybe for the 10 year anniversary season so we have a full decade of seasons available.

Going with the 'who needs guys ready on opening day I can cobble hobbled talent' motif... another guy I was considering last go-round and hoping for 350-400 good PAs:

Michael Brantley, OF

@TobiasFunke for the turn ( @Kraft..., you have his cell? I see you in the thread, worth a shot)
