***BTTF VI: Draft Over! See you in October (1 Viewer)

Looks like my 45th round pick (Keon Broxton) has a shot to be the Brewers starting CF. Love this league.
That's why I drafted Shane Peterson ... said to have "a shot" at the same job. And Rotochamps thinks Peterson will start the season in CF for the Brewers

Are we going to utilize the same site as last year for tracking, and, if so, when can we import players?

i think he's bluffing.

story just came out about how Laroche was told by White Sox that he can no longer bring his son (age 14) into the clubhouse. sounds more like a leverage play to me. especially with $13 million on the line.

I think he'll be surprised to learn that they're delighted with his decision.

Am I missing something, or is this is a weird line for the White Sox to draw with Laroche? Maybe his kid was disruptive or has sticky fingers or something ... but otherwise, I thought players' kids were common in clubhouses. Maybe it varies team to team.

By all accounts, the kid was a good kid, respectful to the game and the players. But he was there EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Sounds like school was not a priority for the LaRoche's and so there was not a day when the kid was not in the clubhouse.

I'm all for bringing your kids to work, teaching them your craft, bonding. But there is no way a major league clubhouse can be what a major league clubhouse wants to be when you have a minor under foot every moment. No one is saying anything publicly, but I would imagine more than one player who would like a more adult environment when and #####ed to management.

Totally agree with this.  I think its odd that LaRoche didn't just suck it up.  Following on twitter it sounds like most agree with Bogie too.  At first everyone was like, wtf why can't he bring his kid?  Then they were like, oh, its EVERY DAY?

Then on the radio this morning I was hearing that Kenny Williams should be separated from the clubhouse as a gm/prez/whatever and that he will be going forward.  But I guarantee that players were coming to him with this...or even the manager.

Reds have signed Alfredo Simon to a 1-year deal. he will be in the rotation

I mean, he'll be terrible but this gets me closer to also being able to brag about 14 starters, or whatever that number was.

From Max Watt's dad's facebook feed:

Pitching in a game for the first time since last summer, yesterday Max threw two innings against the Baltimore Orioles' Low A minor league affiliate at the Red Sox' minor league spring training facility in Ft. Myers. His pitching line: 9 batters, 2 Ks, 3 walks, one weak groundball single (the shift was on and the batter hit it where the fielders weren't), 1 caught-stealing and three pop-up outs. Oh, and he wore the uniform pictured here.
