Bucs the #32 Defense? (1 Viewer)

Trying to keep this preemptive and productive unlike the Marshall waste of pixels thread, but I was shocked to see TB ranked dead last this week. I thought they played extremely well in week 1 especially along the DL. Not sure what they did to deserve this ranking. Unless giants are predicted to have a blow up game? I really like them as a sleeper D this year but I guess I'm in the vast minority.

I feel the same way about the Charger D. Absolutely stuffed McFadden on the road, consistent pass rush, aggressive blitzing, special teams looked great. Now playing at home against the Titans, who were destroyed at home vs. the Patriot D. To me Chargers are top 5 this week.

Sorry, but Chargers D line is a one-week mirage. The Raiders playcalling was awful. Checking down and target McFadden 18 times is not a viable plan. Hardly testing the secondary is not a good plan. I'm not saying the Chargers D is bad, but top 5, and you have to be smoking some good stuff to believe that. And as for the Bucs #32 defense. They aren't anything special. Maybe I could see them ranked 25 or so, but that's splitting hairs. Panthers game was an aberration.

It's a viable plan when your best WR is Rod Streater. I'll check down to the most talented RB in the game every play instead of throwing to a guy that was working at a car wash last week.

They might not be as good as they seemed Monday night, but they're not a mirage either. They've added some good players to the D this year, and some of the guys they've had have taken a step up from last year. I've been saying since the start of preseason that the Charger D is going to be improved this year, and nothing that's happened since has caused me to question that. The only concerns I have are injuries and whether Cason can continue to play well. Otherwise I think they'll be a solid D this year.

We'll see. I think playcalling wasn't the issue. Raiders couldn't dominate with the run game like they thought, and the Chargers were getting a great pass rush even before blitzing - they were in Carson's grill all night. Secondary wasn't perfect but adequate. Linebackers looked fast. So forgetting about the Chargers, who I think are better on D, what about the Titans? After last week, do you think they'll be very prolific going cross country. Do you expect Chris Johnson to light them up? Locker? If TN gets 10 points I'd be surprised.

Did you watch the game? Not trying to be a jerk just asking. Anytime a team holds one of the previous years best rushing teams to almost negative yards on the ground and looks good doing it I take notice. I certainly don't qualify as the worst defense in football the next week.
