After the Jets took the lead 14-10 just before halftime, McGahee rushed for 40 more yards for the rest of the game. And 4 of those yards came in the last play before halftime.
Losman passed for 43 yards in the 3rd quarter and 136 yards in the 4th quarter, for a total of 176 of his yards after the Jets took the lead.
The point is, more than half of Losman's yards came after they decided that they were playing catchup. And more than 2/3 of McGahee's yards came before the Jets took the lead. The stat lines make it look like a team that panicked as soon as they went down 14-10 just before halftime. They abandoned the gameplan that had them leading the game for the first 29:41. To me the fact that Buffalo became the first team to lose at home with a 300+ passer and a 150+ rusher is more of an indictment against the coaching than the players.
This week the Bills became the first team in NFL history to have a 300-yard passer and a 150-yard rusher at home and lose. And they were my survivor pick
