Burleson: "I want to be the black Wes Welker" (1 Viewer)

It helps me understand the struggle of black people for social equality. Very similar to the struggle of white people to be accepted as legit skill position players in pro sports. Lead the way Wes!

I like Nate, but someone forgot to tell him that the Wes Welker on that team is the 3rd WR right now...and closing fast.

Week 2 targets: Burleson - 9, T. Young - 7

Just saying. ;)

If I was him, I would have said, "By the end of the year people will be calling Wes Welker the white Nate Burleson". That's the kind of confidence you want Nate. ;)

This is kind of ironic since I traded both Welker and Burleson in a package deal in the off season. :wall:

Sounds like someone didn't watch the game, or did and still doesn't understand the nuances of their respective roles.Titus stretches the field. /packageTheir skills are complementary.

In 10 years we will look back and be thankful for all the opportunities that Bill Belichick was willing to give struggling under appreciated white atheletes everywhere.

Agreed and many of those targets were garbage time as well...

T. Young will limit his upside.
I agree, but "the white Wes Welker" will be far more consistent than Young this season and put some solid WR 3 numbers in a high powered offense.
I agree he will be more consistent than Young....but averaging around 5 targets a game does not look appealing for a #3 wr who has not shown to be a redzone threat. [granted it's only 3 games of stats]

You think Wes Welker will put up solid Numbers as a WR3? I think he has a shot at top 5 numbers and should be looked at as a solid WR2+ or WR1 depending on scoring format!!! He already has 31 rec 458 yards and 4 TD in 3 games!!!

Targets Week 3:Burlson (BWW) 2T. Young 8Look at the bright side - Burleson caught both of his targets - Young only caught 4 of his (of course, Young averaged 12.8 YPR - and BWW 6 YPR). I'm not thinking too much garbage time in one that went OT.It's okay guys, I've taken players that got eclipsed by more talented players too.
