Really? If you act like a kid, you're going to be treated like one. And walking into a club with an unregistered handgun in the waistband of your sweatpants, and subsequently shooting your fool self, is acting like a dumb kid. Don't act like you deserve respect and are mature just because you make a lot of money.In talking about fans that didn't support him:

Glad to see he learned to act like an adult and be humble through this whole thing instead of blaming everyone else. I'm sure he'll never ever run into any problems in the future.What a dope.

There's a big difference between:

"I can't believe no one came to visit me in jail!" and then you pout

and

"I can't believe no one came to visit me in jail!" and you then look at yourself and start to think.

I think Plax is still thinking along the lines of the first one, unfortunately.

 
Prison is a place where people are punished for doing bad things. They don't give out brains there. Stupid went in and stupid came out.

 
Well, I hate to bump this thread but it's the only one I see in the Shark Pool about Burress. How do we feel about his value after the sunday night performance (5 for 72 and TD)? He's one the waiver wire of my PPR league and I'm in need of more depth at wr from lack of a true #1 wr.

There's a lot consider here. You have to wonder if Holmes is or is not a true WR1 1st of all. Most are high on Homes and you also have to loo at the lack of rushing this past week, will that continue? They were down 14 i the 4th so they were playing catch up, how often is that going to be the case. In the Jets perfect world I think Greene and LT combine for 125-150 rush yards, Sanchez keeps it around 30 attempts vs 45+ like Sunday Night...and i thin a lot of weeks they will be able to enforce their will on teams. There's no right or wrong answer, nothing wrong in grabbing Plaxico but temper enthusiasm.

Was Burress wrong to be carrying a gun around like that and even sneaking one into a club after being turned away? Hell yes.

Is he some thugged out gang-banger? Please. Could picture the type of person blasting Burress as some guy from Texas who is carrying at the supermarket.

Burress accidentally shot himself. Career potentially over and he's in the pen for 1.5 years. I'd be pissed to if one of my teammates didn't visit me to lend some support.

Coughlin not really having any sympathy and acting as if Burress was in anyway luck would piss me off too. We are talking real life here. You all act like 1.5 years in prison is a small thing. Most of you would #### your pants if you had to spend three days there.

I don't expect much at all based on Week 1. Despite Sanchez throwing a highly abnormal 44 times, he was largely invisible until Dallas was down to it's 4th/5th CB and Plax was paired up against 5'9" Bryan McCann. He didn't do much at all when he was paired one on one with Mike Jenkins. Rex has already said he's doesn't want to throw that much going forward, and Plax will be facing better CBs.

Athletes are targeted and robbed all the time -- from their "friends" and family, not from being attacked in some nightclub.Was Burress "wrong" to be carrying a gun and "sneaking" it into a nightclub -- NO, he was breaking the law, thus get his *ss thrown rightly where it belonged. It's lucky that he only shot himself, should Coughlin and his teammates have been sympathetic if an innocent bystander had been killed? They probably already know what kind of person he is. How many coaches and teammates visited Vick in jail? I doubt few, if any, but Vick isn't crying about that. What Vick did is disgusting, both him and Burress served their time, but at least Vick is saying the right things (whether his regrets are real or not).

I don't blame Couglin for not visiting him in jail.Burress, for all his talent, seems like a pain in the ### to deal with. Look at his recent commentsabove?I am sure there's all kinds of stuff behind the scenes, but the sheer fact of my employee beingnotoriously late every #######g day, then goes out and shoots himself, well, you just could notdepend on Plaxico. I wouldn't visit that guy either....

The statement is he is still immature (not a thug). I simply pointed out that a 34 year old man is still wearing his hat like a teenager.
 
Figured this one out when he signed his contract and it had to have that $17 on the end for his number. Shows that he's still about him imo.

What's up with the doughnut last week? Can Jets homers or others in the know comment on what went wrong for Plax?

Is it the ankle injury or is he another Ochocinco?

Senator, I served with Ochocinco, I knew Ochocinco, Ochocinco was a friend of mine. Senator, Plaxico Burress is no Ochocinco.
