With an above 90% success rate of recovering from this type on injury, do you like the oppurtunity to buy low on RB now in keeper & dynasty leagues? I think he has a good chance to come back and be a success. I BELIEVE Kevin Jones had the same kind of injury last year and he has come back very strong. I just made a trade for him in my keeper league. Brian Leonard and Julius Jones for Ronnie Brown. What are everybody's thoughts on him recovering from this injury?

No, Kevin Jones did not have a torn ACL - he had a lisfranc (sp?) injury.

Is he put on the PUP next year seeing that this injury happened almost in the middle of the year?

A full ACL takes 2 yrs to fully recover (be wared; RBs have very difficult times recovering from these and may never be the same)... the time to buy him maybe next season... the owner should be disappointed by then

This has been the case in years past. I am not entirely convinced that it is the case anymore. Both Javon Walker and Deuce McAllister came back strong last year and posted excellent numbers. Much better than just about anyone expected of them. (McAllister 1250 yards and 10TDs while splitting with Bush and Walker 1200 yards and 9TDs on a new team.) For the record Walker tore his ACL in week 1 of 2005, and McAllister tore his in week 5. Walker has since re-aggrevated his knee, and McAllister tore his OTHER knees ACL.

 Very true. Walker and McAllister did bounce back strong. BUY LOW ON RB WHILE YOU CAN!!!

I traded Ronnie and a 2nd round draft pick away for TJ Housh. Have a legitimate shot to win this year and frankly don't trust any back rehabbing from an acl. Only Edge has come back and remained healthy, and even he is a shadow of his former self.

I'm not going to miss the drama next year on how well he's doing and whether he's behind or ahead of schedule.

First off KJ's injury had nothing to do with his knee at allSecond off, just because one guys come back from one injury doesnt mean another one will. Each case is different. If you can get Brown dirt cheap I would take the risk, but it is definitely a big risk

Whatever KJ had i would not trade Brown for Jones in a dynasty or keeper.

I'm only thinking about taking a 1st round pick + something playable this year (like an over the hill vet that's still producing). I figure the 1st round pick is about equal to RB @ 80% next year, and if I draft well, could be similar to his production the year after. Probably more risk factor w/ a rookie than RB's recovery, so help filling that hole would have to accompany the 1st. I'd prefer to get a little younger than RB + 2 yrs and avoid the drama, but I doubt I'll see any takers.

In a Dynasty league right now would be a decent time to go after him but not nearly as good if you were to wait longer. Near the end of the season he will be forgoten about (at least a little) and people won't be thinking about how he was the #1 fantasy RB before he got hurt. If you wait just a little longer to go after him I think it will pay off for you.
