Buyer's remorse (1 Viewer)

need2know said:
I was hoping leveon bell would fall to me in the third round.  When he didn't and went second overall I punched the guy next to me in a mixture of disbelief and anger.  Very remorseful today.
Was it in front of his wife & children?

I took Mixon over Hunt at 1.1 thinking (hoping) Hunt would fall to me with my next pick at 1.8......he was taken at 1.7.

I had Hunt rated #3 behind Cook and Fournette but I talked myself out of the pick.

Was Mixon your 4th ranked rookie then? If you had the 1.1, why not take Cook or Fournette?

It's Dynasty, I drafted Cook to my Devy squad last year and Fournette was already taken and yes I had Mixon #4 ahead of CMC.

Drafted 9th. On the flip side of this, my 4th round pick did this to me. I'm a Texans fan and felt Hopkins would have a bounce back year even if we went to Watson and thus far I'm not disappointed in Hopkins as he is what I thought he'd be. What I am upset at myself for is seeing a player fall that shouldn't have been there AT ALL and staring down the decision of not picking the guy I wanted vs. a guy who had no business being there.

I foolishly felt like the guy would keep falling and should grab Hopkins before someone else did and sure enough the falling player fell all the way to the 9th pick in the 4th round. His name? Todd Gurley. I'm still suffering at RB2 and like an idiot I could have easily taken the league if I'd have just grabbed the value when I was clearly staring at it.

My brain was having trouble processing your initial comment, so I appreciate the response.Getting sniped by one pick like that definitely stings.

I should have more clearer from the beginning yes it stings! All the data shows that Hunt was clearly one of the best backs in this draft and I passed on him.

10-team league; keep 6.  So 60 players already off the board.  I had almost kept Devante Parker and was determined to grab him should he be available in round 2.  As the draft rolled to me, I saw Corey Coleman bubble up in the list of undrafted players. Somehow I had completely missed Coleman in the my pre-draft ranking. It shocked me to see him there - so much that I had mental freeze. With the timer ticking down, I clicked "Coleman.  Very next pick after me: Parker.  I will be kicking myself all year - at a minimum.

Yes.....My league has special scoring for defense and kicker. That is what "high performance league" means.  So the picks were justified at that spot.

No offense, but this wasn't a "rate my draft" or "tell me where I blew it" post.

This isn't a simple beginner standard scoring or PPR league. This league has bonuses for most common stats.

If you wish to give "rate my draft" advice, maybe try the Assistant Coach forum.

Did you have any regrets in your drafts due to thinking you could wait one more round for a player?
20 points for a kick-off that goes out of bounds?

Seriously, I've seen scoring system where defenses were quite valuable.  But, there is still little variability between kickers so unless there is a big distance bonus and you want a Tucker/Prater, I would still wait on the kicker.

Picking Russel Wilson instead of going really late on QB. 2 team keeper league and I picked him in the 8th. I just hate to give up on him having spent the draft capital and making him 5th QB off the board. It's so much harder to move on and drop him when we know that he CAN be the man in fantasy and I've already paid for him.

When Wilson fell to me in the 7th, I thought, "man, FF is great but that's a steal! Most of his issues were because he was hurt last year!"

Didnt figure I'd be doubling up since I took Doug Baldwin in the 2nd.

also didn't figure I'd be having Buyer's Remorse about Baldwin at 2.06

Together they've been brutal.

2-0 though, so hoping hinges pick up for Seattle. Tennessee isn't great against the pass, nor do they have a great pass rush  - but imma let Wilson sit on my bench for a week and see. I'm thinking this weekend will be telling.

At 2-0 you can't complain bro.  Get the #### out of here

Gurley fell in most of my drafts, thus ended up on several of my teams. Can't ignore feature backs with elite talent. I took him in the 4th in a $500 league O_O

I feel ya.   But it is a sunk cost now.   If you can improve your QB situation you should always be open to it.

That oline may be bottom 2 in the league.

I'll add a kicker at some point this week. There's very little difference between drafting one late or passing and taking a flyer on a lottery ticket.

The last round pick is for DST, I usually swap them out all year anyway, and there are always value picks in rounds 13-16.

I took Derek Carr at 10.08 - Ted Ginn went next, I should have taken him as my WR4 and taken Dalton, Rivers or Stafford coming back at 11.03. Instead I ended up with Marvin Jones. My bench WRs ended up being Corey Coleman, Corey Davis, and Cooper Kupp. Would have preferred Zay Jones had I known the Titans rookie WR injury would linger.
Added Lutz the day the season started, which turned out pretty good for WK 1. He didn’t do anything wrong WK 2 either but I swapped him out for the quirky Italian on the Raiders. Doesn’t matter.

Went Bills/Raiders/Eagles first 3 weeks. Does not matter (but I might switch from streaming to committee.) D just doesn’t matter from a value perspective.

Backup WR corps has been a disaster. Cut Marvin after WK 1, Coleman & Davis moved to the IR slots, dropped Kupp this week. Replaced them with Geronimo Allison, Lockett, JJ Nelson, and Doyle (moved Eifert to IR.) Happy with the upgrades but still annoyed at how little value I found after Round 10.

Also 2-0, Hunt in the 2nd and CJA in the 4th soften the blow, but it's even harder to let go of Wilson when you can kind of afford to take his bad scores in anticipation of his "strong second half"

amari cooper when i could have waited and grabbed crab 2 rounds later
I don't know why know one saw that.  Either that or they just really thought this would be the year Cooper separates himself from Crabtree and becomes a top WR.

Going into my 2 big drafts I wanted a good te.  Te is always a position I have punted and I would usually find a decent option late in drafts or on the ww.

So this year I took Olsen and Graham.

:sadbanana:
