Buzz Around David Boston Completely Gone (1 Viewer)

 They will have to release the tests in court, and then explain how the NFL tests didn't reveal what the Police tests did, and WHY the police tests didn't reveal anything at first, and took longer than expected to reveal anything.
I believe it's because the secondary tests were testing for different substances. It should be easy to explain.

The Pinellas Park police department announced Thursday that DUI charges against Bucs WR David Boston will be pursued.

Police didn't release the results of Boston's urine sample (he passed his breathalyzer test), but it seems likely that the results came back positive for an illegal substance. Boston was found asleep at the wheel of his car in the middle of the street with the engine running on August 23.

This is like the Duke lacrosse case. The police and DA are looking for anything to nail this guy on. The next charge will be driving without a seatbelt on.
Who is this cop anyway? Maurice Stovall's Brother in law??? giving it is best effort to eliminate the competition?

:hifive: They will have to release the tests in court,
you don't think they know that?also, the NFL tests have nothing to do with what the PD administered. That would be a whole different issue for the court to consider.

Also they won't have to reveal why it "took longer than expected" -- unless you know what time period is expected here. Pretty sure they're not using the switz deadline for these things.

A sample of Boston's urine was also sent to the Pinellas County Forensic Laboratory. Analysts were asked to test the urine for some additional substances GHB, PCP, Ketamine, DXM, and Dextromethorphan, as well as inhalants and anesthetics.

Boston tested positive for at least one of these substances, Pinellas Park police said.

Normally I wouldn't belong posting in the Shark threads, but I can say that the quote above referencing the various drugs tested for does not necessarily mean they expected him to be positive for any of them. Different types of drug tests look for an array of different substances. For example, if you want to test for Ketamine you will be testing for an assortment of different drugs simultaneously based on the nature of the test. Just because the test he underwent looked for inhalants and anesthetics doesn't mean there's a strong possibility he was taking them.

I was high on him(pun intended) but he's now hurt and facing potential legal problems so I dropped him for Wes Welker. He was a late round pick regardless.

More from The Pewter Report (June 19):

Boston has had some outstanding practices this offseason and dominated at times on Tuesday morning. Although he's not as fast as he was during his prime, Boston is back. He's getting good separation from defensive backs and making nice catches. Boston did, however, drop one pass during warm-ups.
Also, sounds like Boston is now cross-training:
It’s interesting to note that although the Bucs value Boston as a reliable backup behind WR Joey Galloway at the X (split end) spot, Boston has actually been cross-training a bit. He lined up as a Z opposite Galloway (X) on a few plays today. The Bucs like the idea of having both Galloway and Boston on the field at the same time. Those two are the Bucs’ fastest receivers.
I love the pewter report and certainly would not sit here and act like I have more inside info than those guys do...but while they are outstanding on compiling inside info on personnel moves and other front office type stuff, they lack (imo) on player evaluation. They become a bit too homerish and fair-weathered when it comes down to stuff like this. There's hardly a player on the roster they haven't overhyped.
But there is also a possible reward.
it probably is rewarding for you to cut boston after week 2.
:lmao:

 it's tough work being right so often.

Having dared to be blasphemous of the hero of this Boston love-in thread the other day, I thought I'd check in to see how the Pro Bowl upside's doing lately.
It's doing just fine: "Breath tests indicated there was no alcohol in Boston's system."
Good luck with that. Urine test likely to show something worse than alcohol from a suspension standpoint..
I love when guys bump these threads... so I'll bump my own post while we're at it.Ouch... hurt myself from patting myself on the back.

David Boston -Oct. 16 - 1:30 pm et (Rotoworld)

Former Bucs and Dolphins WR David Boston was arrested on Saturday following a domestic dispute.

The charges include "felony false imprisonment for preventing his wife from calling 911" and "misdemeanor domestic battery". Boston was charged with a DUI in August and was released by the Bucs in September. It is hard to imagine him getting a shot with another any time soon, if ever.

 see ya

.....Until next year.. When the Boston Hype machine starts all over again, when the reports come out about how he has reformed himself, is looking like he's in the "Best shape of his career" etc etc.

With Clayton, Stovall, the TE's, Pittman, Caddy, and Galloway to feed in a below average offense I just can't see Boston being fantasy relevant even if he "starts".
Give me your list of LATE round picks. Other than your kicker, who has the "potential" to crack your starting line.BTW, how did Garcia do in Philly last year? As you have listed, they have some talent on offense. With off season acquisitions, I feel the TB offense will be better while the defense will regress to the mean.
Old threads are fun!

I figured it might soon be time to ramp up this year's version of the annual "David Boston is a new man, is finally over his injuries, is looking fantastic and is worth a low round pick" thread.

Nice.I was planning on waiting til June or so....Chris Smith, Colin Dowling, Joe Bryant seem to be the worst offenders if memory serves.
