C.J. Spiller - WR? (1 Viewer)

How long before Spiller can be re-classified as a WR for fantasy leagues?
For most leagues, next season if ever. He is still the primary back up to Jackson as I understand the situation and playing WR only until Jones returns from injury unless the plan changes.

I'd imagine that even when Jones returns he'll still see reps at WR. The team sees Spiller as a playmaker and they want to keep him involved. With Jackson doing so well they can't get him snaps at RB with too much frequency, so they're getting him on the field any way they can.

Buffalo Bills RB C.J. Spiller will remain at a new position - wide receiver - for the short term. "He did a very good job," head coach Chan Gailey said. "I can see that being his role for the short term." Spiller had five receptions for 39 yards in Week 6.

With the Bills thin at wideout in Donald Jones' (high-ankle sprain) absence, Spiller lined up exclusively at receiver in Sunday's loss to the Giants, reeling in five catches for 39 yards. The move may actually boost Spiller's value in PPR leagues, though it won't make him worth a start in standard formats. That could change if he's granted wide receiver eligibility. I know in most fantasy baseball leagues that a player gains eligibility once they start 10 games at a position but I've never seen this happen in football. My guess is that if Fred Jackson stays healthy Spiller becomes a RB/WR next year.
