Cadillac Williams recently denied a report by ESPN2 that Williams has "several herniated discs in his back.""Are you kidding?" Caddy inquired. "I never heard that, and I know I never heard anything about having all those disc problems, either." Cadillac wasn't on the Bucs' injury report and will start in Week 3.Source: Tampa Tribune

While I agree this has been much ado about nothing, it made me think about the Bucs running game in general.

Coupla things I'm pretty sure about.

The running game will improve. Two tough opponents to start the year and backup lineman playing the whole game.

I gotta think Gruden is burning the midnite oil trying to improve the situation somehow.

No one is as bad as they look on their worst day and as good as they seem on their best day.

If Williams is already having so many problems with his back this soon, who's to say he's gonna last 16 games?

I know in my two main leagues the Caddy owner did NOT handcuff him. And why would he given the present situation?

But things change quickly in the NFL. This could easily be one of those  moments in a fantasy season where the main guy has injury concerns from the start and nobody bothers to roster his backup due to overall poor performance by the team.

In short, if your roster provides the space this may turn out to be a reasonable gamble.

Flame away!

I'm not sure why that thread hasn't been locked yet.
Why would it be locked? Someone reported it and we all know the guy has a back problem.Would it help Caddy owners in denial if it were locked?Face it the guy has under 60 yds and a 2.6 yds per carry ... you'd better hope he has a back problem otherwise he just flat out sukz!Do yourself a favor and trade him before it's confirmed

"I never heard that, and I know I never heard anything about having all those disc problems, either."Wonder if Caddy will find out before it's "confirmed"?

Uh, it wasn't the "talented Mr Roto" who made the statement. The reporting on this board is as sloppy as the reporting on espn2. Can we give this all a rest. Those who are worried about the back are trying to trade him; those who aren't worried are trying to trade for him while his value is down. Not sure we need any more speculation. The only worthwhile info in this thread came from the thread initiator
