I'm a Sammy Watkins fan. Still have a lot more to watch before I compare the two, but I can say that after watching Watkins a few times that he's easily my favorite underclassman receiver.
Completely different players.Keenan Allen is a Brandon Marshall typeSammy Watkins is a bigger Percy Harvin typeOverall I like Watkins more because he is so far along in development. The biggest question is how much more will his game develop?Sorry, don't mean to change your thread Matt.
I really don't see the Desean Jackson compasion; the only similarity is that they wore the same college uniform. Hakeem Nicks is probably a better comparison. Allen does have nice open field moves but they're much more about creating running lanes than popping around like a video game. Desean makes everyone miss, while Allen mostly keeps his momentum up and breaks arm tackles. He's strong and determined with the ball. He's also able to create space for catches, even in situations where everyone in the stadium knows the ball is going to him. (His percentage of the team's third-down targets has to be huge).
He's a can't-miss NFL prospect; a man amongst boys at the NCAA level.
My apologies for the potential hijackReally enjoying the RSP. Was reading it on the phone at the Redwings OT victory on sunday. Allen does seem to be the favorite WR for 2013. Looking forward to more o these

ETA: i think this could turn into the blackmon vs floyd type debate. i will not be surprised if floyd is the first WR off the board this year in the NFL draft. statistically blackmon is the guy, but floyd is bigger, faster and more athletic. imo, blackmon is more a product of the system than a cant miss talent.alot of fantasy owners chase stats, i think that is a flawed approach. floyd just looks more the part imo... same with allen. woods will likely have the better stats when the season ends next year, but i wont hesitate to take allen over him this year in devy drafts or next year in rookie.
