Calling all plumbers (1 Viewer)

Sheet rock Wall behind washing machine is all wilted & water damaged.  Just noticed today.  Also carpet wet in closet on the other side of the washer wall.  House is 12 years old.   WTF??????????????????????????????  Checked water connections they seem secure.  Seems to be a 2 inch drainage hose going from machine down into the wall.

All washers have a drain filter that needs to be cleaned out periodically.

I found this out the hard way. Not sure if that’s the issue but it’s a psa.

Baking soda + vinegar down the drain.

You may need to open the wall to be sure the insulation isn’t wet. If it is you MUST take it out. It will not dry.  Carpet pad prolly has to go too if it’s been wet more than a day or two. Might be able to save the carpet.

If anything except metal or concrete has been wet for more than 72 hours you have to take it out.

I don't know how to fix it but I do know that calling a plumber will cost you at least $500.

I probably should have gone into the trades.

Water damage is no joke, you might want to call insurance and get a water mitigation company out to see if there is mold or structural damage.  Depends on how long the leak has been there.
