Calvin Johnson vs Santonio Holmes (1 Viewer)

He looks uncoverable right now.
He doesn't just look uncoverable, he is. Outside of Randy Moss there isn't a WR who is going to wreck havoc on a defenses secondary like CJ will.
Ha, you are the same guy that just predicted Chris Johnson would run for over 2000 yards this year. No offense, but how old are you?
The Chris Johnson thing was a little bit over the top, but the stuff about Calvin is true, the guy is basically flawless as a WR.Speed? CheckSize? CheckRoute Running? CheckDeep ball tracking? CheckPersonality/Work Ethic? CheckHands? Check, although last year he did have some trouble his hands are usually a strength, not a weakness. But i guess someone could argue that his hands aren't all world like the rest of his skillsBottom line is that this is the PERFECT WR. You could go in a lab and not create a WR as perfect.
Awful OL - checkLousy QB - checkNo established RB - checkTop option at other WR spot - checkNew OC geared toward running the ball - checkI'll take the steady Holmes over the hype of CJ2
:lmao:

All the CJ2 manlove is crazy - as the Tuna used to say - "Let's not put him in the Hall of Fame yet" - The kid has done absolutely nothing yet!

HaHaWas thinking the same thing. As soon as someone throws out a "Top 5" type comment I tune em out

I'd have to go with CJ..Holmes has a lot of talent, and is probably good for about 80-85 catches, but CJ can easily grab 100+..Derrick Mason had 100+ recs last season, with a hogepodge of lousy QB's throwing to him..Kitna is much better than anything Balt. had at the QB position in '07..

this will be CJ's breakout season!

NO way Calvin Johnson catches 100 plus balls this year and S. Holmes plays for Pittsburgh, not Baltimore. Not understanding fully the correlation between Derrick Mason and Calvin Johnson/S. Holmes.

Not saying I agree or disagree with Tanner, but he wasn't saying Holmes was a Raven, he was saying if Mason can catch 100+ plus balls from the crap they had at QB in Baltimore, CJ can catch at least that many with Kitna. He's just trying to show that a receiver can still succeed despite a pathetic QB and passing offense.

This is a close call, but if I had to choose between them, I'd probably go with CJ. Although the Steelers are becoming more of a throwing team, they just have to many targets: Ward, Holmes, Miller, and now Sweed. CJ basically only has to compete against Williams for catches.

Absolute no brainer ...

Calvin Johnson wasn't the 2nd overall pick in 07 for nothing... he is a huge, physical beast and if he stays healthy this will not even be close comes seasons end.

Not often do quick, small WR's put up monster seasons... the WR position has long been dominated by the likes of big, physical WR's

Big Ben and Kitna are alot closer than many think. Kitna has B2B 4000 yard seasons and I figure he'll come close to those numbers again even w/o Mad Martz... I actually think he'll improve as the more simpler playbook and more looks to CJ & Roy will provide the downfield threats that Martz often abandoned for the quick slants.

Calvin goes 90, 1300+ and 12+ TD's

Please bookmark and bump come seasons end

 I don't agree that kitna/ben are close in talent, but i do agree that Kitna will have as many or more attempts then Ben, so in that regard they are close.

CJ is the better pick in dynasty... Holmes the better pick in re-draft.

Love CJ's upside, but as last season clearly showed, he is a LONG way from a finished product.

That's fine that you think CJ will outproduce Santonio Holmes this year but the reasoning is questionable. Plenty of "small, quick" WRs have put up monster seasons. These two come to mind:Marvin Harrison 6-0, 185Torry Holt 6-0, 190

He was hurt all year, did you see him play healthy last week?

No franchise QB in Detroit vs Big Ben in Pitt. I think that is a huge factor for dynasty.
