Calvin Johnson (1 Viewer)

So glad Stafford started throwing to him again this week!!! Having Calvin in one league and Stafford in the other really helped propel both my teams to blowout wins and the Championship game. Just hope they can keep it going next week!

With the first pick in the 2007 NFL Draft the Oakland Raiders select:

JaMarcus Russell

The Detroit Lions are now on the clock

I wonder how many times this was brought up by Raiders' fans yesterday.
You can't imagine how many times I thought this over the years. I can't prove it, but I wanted Calvin over JaMarcus back in the day. While JaMarcus had more upside, Calvin was the safe guy. I still can't believe we ended up with a hole on our roster, when we could have had Calvin. Heck, we could have had ADP, but I'm still sore we didn't take Calvin.

I don't think I've ever been so confused at how to react when Calvin scored the winning TD yesterday. On the one hand, I was pissed that my team is almost surely out of the playoffs. On the other hand, that catch put me over the top and into the FF championship in my medium stakes league. At least I have that as a consolation prize.

That deep bomb catch that Calvin Johnson caught on the final drive where Stafford underthrew him by a mile was simply amazing. I have no idea how he was able to come back to the ball in traffic and make that play.

Many thanks to Megatron for carrying me to the championship next week!!

You can talk about defending Johnson, and you can game-plan for him and bump him at the line and try to pressure Matthew Stafford so he can't get the ball to him, but at the end of the day, or the end of the game, the math never changes: taller + faster > smaller + slower.

Johnson finished with nine catches for 214 yards, and he deserves nine game balls. This was a performance for the ages, the kind that should shut up Johnson's three remaining doubters, two of whom just moved to a cave in South America.

Great story. :goodposting:
They host the Chargers next week, and Ford Field should have a playoff feel. Win that game, and the Lions will be 10-5 and headed to the postseason for the first time since Johnson was normal size.
:lmao:

I drafted him 5th in a 12-team non-ppr league. I finished 3rd and he was superhuman in the playoffs.

Hopefully I can draft him again but there's no way he lasts to pick 8 next season.

Yeah, in my league where RBs get .25 ppr; WR get .5 ppr & TE (not mandatory, 2 FLEX spots) get full ppr, Megatron won't last once Foster/Rice/McCoy/Rodgers (& maybe Brees) are off the board (6 pts/any TD). I grabbed him at the 11th spot out of 12 this past draft. He'll be long gone at that point in the '12 draft in my league.

Put those numbers together this morning myself and had to wonder if there's ever been a better four game stretch by any WR? That's averaging 192 yards a game and 1.5 tds. That is absolutely insane. I was lucky enough to nab Calvin at the bottom of the 1st in a 2 keeper league this year...don't think that'll happen next year. He'll be WR1 for sure and Stafford should be QB 2 or 3 in every draft now. Sure wish I had taken him in the 8th when in this league instead of relying on Vick as a keeper.
