Cam Newton = Daunte Culpepper (1 Viewer)

Honestly...who cares about anyones opinion on Cam...everyone's opinion was wrong on the "cam will suck at the nfl level" spectrum. Who's to say that we won't be wrong at the other end, the "Cam is and NFL/fantasy G-D" spectrum.

He could end up fading this year...or next. He could end up being like dante culpepper. or he could end up being the first cam newton...maybe like NO one else has ever been in the history of football. everything that we all expected from mike vick that he never amounted to bc of poor work ethic.

bottom line is: judge him in the present. and in the present he is tearing new ***holes into legitimate NFL defenses. Ride him until he puts up 2 clunkers in a row. then worry.

But for now...I will subscribe to Cam being super-human, and having the abilty to shoot fireballs from his arrrsse and able to single handedly defeat the krakken.

If he can really shoot fireballs from his ####, then he should be able to defeat the Krakken with no hands! :excited:

Excellent point. I think he can easily just breathe fire as well, so no need to even turn around to defeat the Krakken!

If you feel that way then there's no point in reading these forums.FF is about trying to predict the future. At this point Cam only has 4 regular season games under his belt, but he's shown an enormous amount of potential.He's exactly the type of player that should be discussed.
 
Heard one analyst today say that based on week 4 the only other QB in the league that could make the throws Cam does is Aaron Rodgers.

 
He may have been the next Dalia Llama, if he wasn't African American.

Now, he's three Slurpees away from diabetes.

Dodds/Henry do the Top 250 and Pasquino does the Dynasty. His last update was before the last game.He might be 1-2 spots too high in the top 250 as QB4, but I think almost anyone will say he is closer to that than QB20

I thought his deep ball looks a lot like Moon.

He's nothing like CPep. Cam doesn't have carnie hands like Daunte, so you don't have to worry about the couple of fumbles per game. His accuracy even though statistically behind seems a lot better. He looks to have a better grasp of reading defenses than Daunte had his entire career. Then Cam stepped in on a loosing team. MN was coming off breaking all offensive records at the time with Cunningham.

Cam is already a much better player and it's not even close. The statistics will work themselves out.

ETA: Does anyone else say out loud, "CAAAAAAAM" when he makes a big play? :unsure:

Newton is more like a rich man's Freeman or Roethlesberger.

Care to expand on this? This is the first I have seen anyone talk about accuracy as one of Cam's strengths. Cam is 21st in completion percentage and is at a lower rate than any of Culpepper's seasons in Minnesota. I know completion percetange is not an exact proxy for accuracy but it's the best thing we have.

Watch Cam play. He has much better command of the football than most QBs. Way better than CPepp ever did. His int's this year have been more the result of bad decisions throwing the ball into coverage. When he is inaccurate, it's more due to poor footwork, where he is still very raw. But even with that poor footwork, Cam's intermediate to long passing is a wonder to behold. Also, Legadu freaking Naanee has to be the worst WR in the NFL. Dude has missed A LOT of plays for Cam this year. Plays were Cam absolutely put it on him and the ball hit the ground. Important plays. Game changers. Even game winners. Smiff is the man and is making plays. Olsen and Shockey have been good targets. Lefell serviceable. But Legadu... PUKE!

Legadu Nanee is freaking horrible... dude has dropped so many "key" catches this year... i am not sure why he is still getting the nod over Lafell.... after last week when he must have had 4 or 5 drops I think he loses the job

Newton is being made to look good because of Smitty!

Like C-pepp and Moss. Throw it up there and your boy will get it!
