He looks good with Barkley or Hoyer. He was a zero with Cutler but he's a goner. If they draft a QB in the 1st round, he will probably go back to a zero because they are not getting Trubisky.I didn't see the game, his stat line was great. Anyone comment on how he looked? any info for the future would be appreciated.
They need to allow Barkley to develop. He's a stud and should be featured more next year.

Your boy is 2nd in turnovers. Stinkston does stupid #### weekly. He almost fell over backwards this week before the snap. The guy is a clown. Why don't you bump the Stinkston thread? Oh, because you would continue to look like a fool when I came in and laughed at the 22 TO's he's manufactured.Bronco Billy said:![]()
This is the same guy who has already determined that Winston has proven he can't play successfully in the NFL?
You couldn't make this stuff up...
Man, that's a lot of hate to repeatedly use such a terrible nickname.Your boy is 2nd in turnovers. Stinkston does stupid #### weekly. He almost fell over backwards this week before the snap. Stinkston is garbage. He's a bigger turnover machine than last year.
Mark Potash of the Chicago Sun-Times wrote the chemistry between Mike Glennon and Cameron Meredith is "evident."
This comes just days after Glennon predicted Meredith would "have a big year." Kevin White is understandably getting the attention early in camp, but Meredith is the clear favorite for the No. 1 job, making him a value in the double-digit rounds.

I want to know what he's looking like in redraft. How does Meredith look in dynasty with Trubisky looking solid so far in early play?
No way to project that yet.How does Meredith look in dynasty with Trubisky looking solid so far in early play?
I know. But he has some intrigue now.No way to project that yet.
True but it doesn't do any good trying to project stats based off of last night. We haven't even seen Trubisky throw to Meredith yet.I know. But he has some intrigue now.
So basically, Brandon Marshall's successor.Best WR they have and still very young at the position. Has a lot of potential. I know the guy he backed up at qb in college well. Says he's a relentless worker and completely transformed himself through college and now. And a quality human being
Something very ironic. That same guy's brother worked with Brandon Marshall at his gym in Miami. So basically, Brandon Marshall's successor.![]()
Absolutely he is their best receiver and it's not close. Meredith didn't produce much in college, but he's big and very athletic. I like him a lot for dynasty and redraft. Maybe a bit more in redraft since he will be the #1 this year. Next year it is likely the Bears try to find a true WR1. Sure but converting positions isn't easy and there's no way he can ever recover that lost time.He played QB until midway through his junior year, and despite that managed to put up over 1,000 yds in his senior year in his first full year as a WR.
This kid is still learning the position. He has every chance to be a legit WR1 given what he's shown so far.
Do you think he's a good bet to see 120-130 targets this year? There's a lot of guys that are being drafted as WR4s and WR5s like Meredith, Britt, Garcon and etc. who seem to be mortal locks to return on their draft price due to volume. Or maybe there's something I'm missing.Absolutely he is their best receiver and it's not close. Meredith didn't produce much in college, but he's big and very athletic. I like Garcon and Britt as well. I think that group of WRs (Tyrell is there as well) represent excellent value right now. Believe it or not, for standard, the Bears WRs had the 12th most fantasy points of any teams WR groups in 2016. Bears WRs scored more points than Broncos, Colts, Patriots, etc. There were 221 Bears WR receptions last year. Meredith was on pace for 111 targets last year (he missed 2 games). I think removing Alshon, that opens a space for more targets. Sure Kevin White (I also has no faith in him), Cruz and Wright will get targets. I also have zero faith in White stepping up and actually think Wright is the next best bet to garner some value in this receiving corps.

I didn't say that. He can get better, but he can never fully recover the development that happens at a younger age. I assume he was a high school QB as well? You're saying a 24 yr old WR who has played the position full time for 3 years has reached his apex? How depressing.

I hear what you are saying, but the same is true of Terelle Pryor who is 3 years older, and we still like him a lot around here.I didn't say that. He can get better, but he can never fully recover the development that happens at a younger age. I assume he was a high school QB as well?
Two people of similar natural ability and similar work ethic:I'm afraid you have me confused. So an older person can't learn the same things that they might have missed as a youngster? Again, how depressing.
And I like Cameron Meredith too. I am just questioning whether he can develop into WR1. I think Pryor still hasn't fully proven he can function as a WR1. He did it in Cleveland but that was also out of necessity, it wasn't part of a longterm plan. The Browns didn't seem too interested in bringing Pryor back. The NFL seemed to be a bit disinterested in Pryor as he couldn't lock up a long term deal.I hear what you are saying, but the same is true of Terelle Pryor who is 3 years older, and we still like him a lot around here.
Two people of similar natural ability and similar work ethic:
Person A begins playing violin at age 10. Person B begins playing at 22. When both are 30, who is the likely better violin player?
If you began karate right now, do you think in 5 years you will be equally as good at karate as if you had started in 2010?
Or Antonio GatesI sure hope nobody tells JJ Watt about this. It will likely ruin his career.
Watt was a DE and TE in high school. Played 1 year of TE in college. Spent 3 years as a DE in college. That is 1 year where Watt was not a DE. That is very different from Meredith was a HS QB, college QB for 2 years and then switched as a junior to WR. I like him and he is a good player. I just think his ultimate upside is a bit limited.I sure hope nobody tells JJ Watt about this. It will likely ruin his career.
Certainly is a outlier. Can't argue against that. He was a great high school football player but did not play college. I'll throw out Matt Jones. Did that prove my point? Not really. If you think Meredith is an extreme outlier and talent on par with Gates, ok we will disagree. However, I think switching positions has a negative impact on player development.Or Antonio Gates

Hines Ward only briefly played QB in college- part of a season. He threw 71 passes as a college QB. Ward left Georgia as their 2nd all time leading receiver. How about Hines Ward?
In any case, I just disagree with your position and am having a little bit of fun at your expense. I absolutely think that a person can recover what they've missed at an earlier age with dedication and strong work ethic - something that by all accounts Meredith has.
