MJD: 3 yards shy of 100 yard bonus rushing.

MJD: 9 yards shy of 100 yard receiving bonus.

Andre Johnson: 3 yards shy of 100 yard receiving bonus.

Tony Romo: 1 yard shy of 300 yard passing bonus.

I lose by 0.2 points. I'm first team outside of playoffs, which start this weekend :wall:

We all have a bad beat story like this, but yeah generally speaking no one cares.

So here's mine: Championship game tied with less than two minutes left in MNF (Rams @ Bucs). I have Issac Bruce he has the Bucs D. Warner throws a pass intended for Bruce and it's intercepted by John Lynch. Three kneel downs and the Bucs, and my opponent, win.

Such is life.

People are just so damn rude on these boards. This dude is just venting a little about how he missed the playoffs in his league by a slight margin. He's not hurting anyone by posting it. If you really don't care then why bother posting a reply at all. That means you took the time to bother with something that you claim you don't care about.

And of course someone with cancer has a worse situation than his, but I think he was tryin to keep it to a fantasy football context ..you know, what THIS ENTIRE WEBSITE AND MSG BOARD IS DEDICATED TO???

Sheesh

There was this one year I drafted a team and the players didn't do so well and I didn't score very many points and I wound up not making the playoffs and stuff.

My league uses total points scored for the season as the first tiebreaker. Three teams all tied for the last playoff spot, and they were all within 1.5 points of each other for the whole season. I havent seen anything that tight since my trip to Kiev.

i'm sorry, i'm confused, does someone care?
sorry, i'm confused, you bother posting why?
Be honest, did you really care about my bad beat story?
i entertained it. although i think being 1 passing yard short edges it slightly
Hmm, if only there was a thread where people could "vent" their frustrations about bad things that happened to their fantasy squads during the ongoing week-http://forums.footballguys.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=626211

Missed the playoffs by .05 points a year or 2 ago. So yeah, that beats your .2 points.

Literally, I lost a game by .05 points in week 12 that if I had won, I would have gotten into the playoffs.

I love reading these threads...they make me laugh.I thought about this a bit and the closest I can come is 1998 when I didn't submit a lineup the last three weeks of the season and plumment to a wildcard birth in the playoffs. I still won the total points title and the championship game, but having to play and extra playoff game kink of irked me. Since then I've only lost once in my big money league, but still hold a 12-1 advantage over Chuck Norris.

Almost made it, but benched Ray Rice for Ladainian Tomlinson on a hunch and lost by three. Boy, if I could have that one back...

How about if your opponent ends up losing instead later in the week due to a stat correction?

With the team in my Sig missed the playoffs....I was the top scoring team by nearly 100 points ...scoring is so screwd up I'm droping this league ....come on +9 points per sack???

Ahh, you poor baby. You should call up your mom and she'll make it all better.

I lost one game this week because I didn't bump Finley. *sigh*

I'm sad for you, a total stranger, who missed the playoffs by .2, but I'm equally happy for the other guy in your league, another total stranger, who made it by .2. All in all, it's a wash for me.

:D I wonder if we are going to hear from him.

I won the Championship a few years ago by .2 :excited:

I was entertained by the post... Most interesting one I've read today other than the Gronk/Graham VBD post.

Take solace in knowing that you've just been a part of something truly amazing. Bad beats are what make Fantasy Football so great.

Joe always says be excellent to each other, but yet never says a word about threads like this, which are completely uncalled for. If you don' care, don't come in and post, no need to attack a guy for posting his bad luck, just let it go.

You're not tough or insightful or witty or tellin' it like it is or anything but douchey when you say, "nobody cares about your team" in these threads. It's weak, petty, and needy. How about politely notifying the guy of the note at the top of the folder and suggesting he take it to the venting thread?

My best bad beat story:

Guy had a 1 point lead going in to MNF with Eddie George back when he was a super stud, other guy was done. Eddie fumble and gets hurt on first play. -2. Eddie doesn't return, guy loses by 1.

You're looking at this from the wrong perspective. I know it's a football message board but The Shark Pool is more like the NHL than the NFL in many respects. We police our own activities in here just like hockey players beat each other up for no apparent reason.Trust me the fans are entertained in both cases.

Eddie George had 2 one carry games in his career, in week 17 of 2004 (the last game of his career) & week 8 of 2000. Neither game was on a Monday. In neither game did he lose a fumble. Please don't make stuff up just to make the original poster feel better.

:X and thank you so much for bringing up such a painful subject. While you're at it, why don't you give me a nice paper cut and pour lemon juice on it?

Well done. Was going to say that I swear I've heard that Eddie George story several times before. Must be a FF urban legend.

Still can't believe it.....but I won last night by .2 on that meaningless Mathews TD run ( :tebow: ) and squeaked into our playoffs as the sixth seed...with my opponent being the team who got knocked out. For every yin, there's a yang. The universe remains in balance.

I make the playoffs if Brady's third TD pass to Gronk is ruled a pass and not a run...still holding out hope that they rule it a pass and I win but I know my kind of luck and it would only be reversed if I was going against Brady and not having him!
