Can someone tell me why Miami is so horrible? (1 Viewer)

Browsed through the channel to see the Dolphins up at halftime, but only 25% of the stadium filled. What gives, the Chiefs' stadium was packed.
If it was halftime, everyone was in the shade or getting drinks. It's hot out there.
It must have been right before the Woodson pick-6. And this would make sense because when the Dolphins did do something well, the stadium was a lot louder than one would expect from seeing so few fans in the stadium.I could buy this.

Nick Saban + Mike Mularkey

Saban is a great college coach, but like Pete Carroll, Spurrier, Holtz, that doesn't necessarily mean NFL success..

Hiring Mularkey was a mistake. It's beginning to look like the Dolphins hiring of Saban was a mistake, too.

Can someone who's seen the games please tell me in their opinion how many of Joey's INTs are Joeys fault?
2 of his 3 INTs yesterday were his own fault. I'm giving him a break on the throw to McMicheal where it hit him in the shoulder pad and bounced high into the air. But the other 2 were just on bad reads and bad throws.

It looks to me like Ralph Wilson and Marv Levy's secret plan of dumping Mularkey on their hated rival is working to perfection. What's the problem? :D

You'll notice that outside of this year alone, since the Dolphins have been especially terrible at moving the football (thank Ronnie Brown's poor rushing or Culpepper's indesiveness or Harrington's poor decision-making), Mularkey has historically run the ball more frequently than he has passed.

Few coaches or offensive coordinators can say this.

If Mularkey has one glaring flaw, it's that he doesn't abandon the run when the team is trailing (a la last year with the Bills especially, one of the reasons he lost his job).

Now, possibly an outgrowth of that firing, is Mularkey's jitteriness regarding inefficient running. He can only stand so many "Ronnie Brown for 2 yards" plays before he just gives up and starts chucking the ball (62 times this past sunday).

Heaven forbid anyone blame the offensive line's not opening up holes or the RB's inability to hit those holes when they are there or make DBs miss in the open field.
Have you watched a single Miami Dolphins game this season?

I apologize for not reading all the posts but the answer is ... they lack a solid QB play. Once they get a QB I think all the fantasy guys , Ronnie , Chambers and McMichael will blow up like everyone thought in the pre-season.

Two words:Mike Mularkey
:goodposting: Play calling is absolutely horrendous. They spend what seems like 85% of every game in shotgun and refuse to run Ronnie Brown like he should be. He should be the featured part of the offense not Culpepper and Harrington.
Clearly expectations were too high in that C-Pep wasn't ready. The people who say he sucked before his injury though didn't look at the last 4 games where he was pretty good 6 TD's and 4 picks as the team was just starting to gel. He was horrible in the 1st 2 games of the year 8 picks. To the above, the play calling is terrible as he gives away his plays. When it is 3rd and 3 or less and he is in the shotgun they throw every time and when they are at the line of scrimmage they run every time. teams are not stupid and they see this. When you have RB back there you need to make them think about the run and play action sometimes and run sometimes. Absolutely terrible play calling.

MLBrandow doesn't know squat about football so just ignore him. He made so many laughable comments about Ronnie he has zero credibility. Here are just a few, "Ronnie Brown never breaks a tackle or falls forward," "Ronnie has NEVER ran away from anyone" "Caddy is so much better than Ronnie and is MUCH better at running inside" and on and on. He is a Ronnie hater and has looked silly all year in his predictions.BTW, we all look silly from time to time in our predictions. I predicted the Dolphins to go 9-7 for example. But, it is what information are you using to come up with your predictions and how you derived them that is interesting.

:goodposting: Perhaps you are watching another sport where the team is also called the Dolphins? Or a black and white TV and the uniforms are similar?

I'd like to dispell a myth that people have about this guy. I'm only defending him here because one of the things I can't stand in this world is when people spread misinformation and other people believe it.You'll notice that outside of this year alone, since the Dolphins have been especially terrible at moving the football (thank Ronnie Brown's poor rushing or Culpepper's indesiveness or Harrington's poor decision-making), Mularkey has historically run the ball more frequently than he has passed.Few coaches or offensive coordinators can say this.If Mularkey has one glaring flaw, it's that he doesn't abandon the run when the team is trailing (a la last year with the Bills especially, one of the reasons he lost his job). Now, possibly an outgrowth of that firing, is Mularkey's jitteriness regarding inefficient running. WOW. I watched in buffalo as his schemes and stupid trick plays launched a wonderful bottom 5 offense for two years for the buffalo bills. He is just a poor offensive coordinator, PERIOD. He showed it in Buffalo, he is showing it in Miami and Pittsburgh didnt skip a beat when he left town either. No offense... but watch the game. I did for 2 years and saw nothing but horrible play calling and HORRIBLE preperation. Then he threw players under the bus when things didnt go right.
