Can the Orioles just go ahead and quit MLB? (1 Viewer)

Raider Nation

Devil's Advocate
This team is a joke.

And it's a damn shame because they have *great* fans who deserve a better product and a better owner.

I actually think they made some great moves this offseason and have some great youngsters. Trembley is a terrible manager IMO

They just need to let the youngsters get experience. They have a great young nucleus of players. Markakis, Wieters, Adam Jones, Brian Matusz, Chris Tillman, Jake Arrieta, are all solid young players. When they get closer to competing, then they can spend $$$ on actually good free agents, like Prince Fielder.

How long have we been hearing THAT...
Well, I think think the front office just made some horrible moves. Check out some of their drafts from the last ten years. Yikes. They just couldn't get it together after their run in the mid to late 90's, but now have solid young players. They made a play for Mark Teixiera, but when the Yankees want a player, they get that player. The O's just need to let their youngsters get another year of experience. Luckily they made some bad signings this year (Garret Atkins), that are only 1 year deals. And losing Brian Roberts so far hasn't helped. They trade for a guy like Prince Fielder or Adrian Gonzalez in the offseason, and they are well on their way.

Didn't expect the offense to be so bad overall. They'd be around .500 if they'd put up the runs they're capable of. Pac Man needs to freakin snap out of it.

Tremblay's a dead man walking, and I guess deservedly so since, outside of a few starters, his team doesn't seem to want to win at all.

The problem with the O's this year has been a lack of run support and a dreadful bullpen. There was a point when Kevin Millwood was like 0-7 with a 3.60 ERA. Brian Roberts not being in the leadoff spot is a huge loss for this team. Most people do not realize how he battles through every at bat and sets the tone for the offense.

Baltimore has a real issue with drawing Free Agent interest as well. Why would you want to go to Baltimore when you can go to Boston or NY and play against the O's? YY Tex is from MD and would rather play for the Yanks. If you cannot even bring in the hometown guys you will never bring in anyone.

There is some great youth but I feel these kids are wasting away their good years with the hopes that this team is rebuilding. You can only rebuild for so long. Maybe its time for Angelos to call it quits.
