At the auction for my twenty teamer last Sunday a buddy of mine was gloating at his minimum bid acquistion of Carl Pavano ...his super sleeper bounce back pitcher for the Cleveland Indians.

After his first game -

1 IP, 6 hits, 3 bbs, 1 K, 9 ER.

Think that one may take a few perfect games to make up for.

I know I have had pitchers get bombed before - but that line is just ridiculous.

I picked him up, but I'm glad I didn't start him. Anybody watch the game have any input? 3 walks and 6 hits sounds like some control problems. I won't give up on him after just one bad outing...especially since he hasn't pitched in a long time.

How about after four bad years + one bad outing?

Listening to the game. I think three things are probably happening:1. The wind is really blowing out at Arlington, making the ball carry.2. The Rangers are all hitting really well to start the season (except Davis).3. Pavano sucks and should not be drafted EVER.Could be any combination of these things.
