Marvin Lewis?Who thinks Palmer is going to bouce back this year and start producing. He has been very inconsistent so far this year, and the o-line has not been good, and the schedule looks tough. Who has confidence in him to turn it around?
I usually don't do this... but come on now. How in the hell does that trade make any sense for the other guy?i hope he does, because i just traded jake plummer and dominic rhodes to get him and cedric benson
I have Palmer and I would love to get something for him. His schedule is an absolute nightmare.ATL = 0 passing tdsBAL x2 #3 passing yds SDG #1 passing yds @ IND@ DEN (Denver @ Denver = forget it)PIT Even his easy games don't look good OAK #2 passing yds allowed NOR #9 passing yds allowed CLE # 11 passing yds allowednope
Why?nope
I had Rex and Palmer, so I traded Palmer for Chad Johnson straight up. The way I see it, I get all the benefit of Palmer, with less of the risk. This is especially true since QBs score a bit higher in our league.I have Palmer and I would love to get something for him. Wow. Nice trade. The Hank said:i hope he does, because i just traded jake plummer and dominic rhodes to get him and cedric benson
He asked if he was going to come around so I just put in nope...didn't know I had to explain. I'm just being a knucklehead...why wouldn't Carson succeed? Could it be they play a very tough schedule both in the division and out of the division? Compared to McNabb who feasts on the AFC South...it just is not fair.Biabreakable said:Why?Ministry of Pain said:nope
Chad Johnson owners haven't exactly been reaping all the benefits of Palmer thus far.jetpack said:I had Rex and Palmer, so I traded Palmer for Chad Johnson straight up. You don't have to explain if you do not want to.However this is a messageboard which to me is for discussion and sharing of information and opinion. So I was curious about what your reasons might be for thinking Carson Palmers performance will not improve from what he has done so far moving forward.Tough schedule.Well Carson Palmer had a very difficult schedule last year also and performed at a amazingly high level. So what is different now?Palmer may still be recovering from his injury last year.Housh CJ Chris Perry and parts of the Oline have been injured during the early going of 2006. Henry has disciplinary issues.I think all of these things have contributed to Palmers erratic performance over the 1st 4 games:Week 1 at Chiefs 13 completions 19 attempts 127 yards 0TD 0 INT 1 Fumble lostWeek 2 vs Browns 24 completions 40 attempts 352 yards 2TD 2INT Week 3 at Steelers 18 completions 26 attempts 193 yards 4TD 2INT 1 Fumble lostWeek 4 vs Patriots 20 completions 35 attempts 245 yards 0TD 0INT 2 Fumble lostThe turnovers are a problem. But that could improve as well as the weapons around Palmer moving forward returning to health and productivity. Getting Chris Perry back is easy completions for Palmer that should further pad his stats. So I have reason to think he will come around. He asked if he was going to come around so I just put in nope...didn't know I had to explain. You make excellent points B, I just think till Henry and Perry are on the field more and the OL as you say gets it together that Palmer may be in for a down year. He did it once against a tougher schedule...doesn't mean everytime he will...and I think the team as a whole is very unfocused and in danger of possibly losing to TB this weekend. God help the team the weekend the Bucs decide they are not going to take it anymore...and at this point, beating a team like Cinci would make the Bucs quite happy. You don't have to explain if you do not want to.However this is a messageboard which to me is for discussion and sharing of information and opinion. Me too .. sadly my QB2 is Leinart .. so that's not quite an option for me :( I think the strength of Rudi pounding the ball so successfully has played a major role in Palmers so-so start ... the addition of Perry will help Palmers stats somewhat I think, but the schedule is every bit as brutal as that of the Giants so it's going to be a challenge for sure .... Palmer showed last season he's got the stuff to succeed and I think he'll still be a top 10 QB by seasons end ... just too much talent on the wings not too!I believe he'll come around and be a gem in the playoffs. But I'd rather leave him on the bench this weekend.
