Cbaos O7 Mock Draft 1.0 (1 Viewer)

Pittsburgh's best drafts have been when they did not go skill position in the first.
Barring a drastic change in draft position, I think a rush backer will emerge, and I guess an OL could also. I highly doubt Lynch goes there (so we agree with your correction). I like Parker fine, btw, and Lynch should go sooner. I'll keep fixing this mess as we move forward. Maybe I can be convinced Levi Brown is better than he looked. Construx? One diehard PSU fan agrees with me-- very overrated. He pass blocks fine. Sam Baker just looks sloppy. I think Aaron Sears and Doug Free could be excellent 0 linemen, but everyone sees them as later picks... so, I'm thinking this is a good year to wait a round on OL. There's 4 pretty highly regarded centers in this draft too. Kyle Young was a consensus #1, but Mangold's replacement (Datish) is a beast like Mangold and Kalil (USC) had an almost perfect season. Satele (Hawaii) may be drafted at guard or center and could be the best of the bunch. So, Harting's replacement may be out there in round 2 or 3 also.

Pittsburgh certainly has some major weaknesses....neither of your mocks address them either (Mock 1 had a DT, where Casey Hampton is firmly entrenched...
Wanted to respond to this also. If you read my comments about Branch you would know that I wasn't talking NT, Hampton's position. The best comparison to Branch is Richard Seymour. This guy would be a beast in that 3-4 for years.
If you project him at DE, then I could certainly see him going to the Steelers. You alluded to speed and lining up next to Hampton, but I didn't know if you were implying a move to a 4-3...which I don't forsee...

I don't know if I would say very overrated, but someone here had him in the top 5 and that's just crazy talk. Can he end up as good as the current longer tenured PSU OLineman, like Rivera, Hastings, etc? Sure. But are any of them really worth taking before the early to mid-second? I don't think so.
