cbs blind bidding question (1 Viewer)

Hello SP. We are having an issue in a high stakes league and wanted to know if anyone knew of a way to get the history of a team's auction bids. Somebody is claiming that they rightfully won Kenny Britt but we need to be able to see the priority list for that team. Unfortunately it has been cleared already. Is there anyway to go back and see this?

If you submit a request through the Help Center they can give you the logs. There's no way to see it through the normal interface.

If he didn't clear his own bids, which he wouldn't have if he really did win, he should be able to screenshot his losing bid. Have him bring it up, hit shift+printscreen, paste it into microsoft paint, save as a jpeg, and send you the proof.

This is a good answer.... Also to note, if there are tie bids it is broken by a pre-determined tie breaker order that the system automatically calculates (not sure how the order is calculated by the system). You can look on the add/drop page to see that order. Not sure if that played into this particular situation. Also not sure how it works if the player put in multiple bids.

What's the allegation? There is no way for the commish to see other people's bids or cancel someone else's pending FA bid. They would have had to delete the transaction altogether after the fact and add a new one - which is pretty obvious.

I am a commish at a auction league at cbs there is no way for a commish to alter or see the bids of others before or after the run. The coach has a record of his bids as they are kept on the add drop page until the coach deletes them.

Here are all of the things I can think of I hope it helps

1. The player he had as a drop played on a Thursday game and locked in therefore could not be dropped making the claim not run.

2. I am not sure but I think if you offer a trade involving a player it may not allow a drop with that player and the trade at the same time.

3. He did not have a drop and hit a hard roster limit cap.

4. He is lying

5. There was a software error on CBS's end but I have never heard or seen this happening

In summary though, I think it near impossible that it is anything but coach error.

Completely unrelated to the OP, but, I didn't know that cbs supported blind bidding. Anyone care to give a short primer on how it works?

You set a FAAB budget. People bid on free agents (whole dollars only). Highest-dollar bids are processed first; ties are broken by waiver order. If you win an auction, you go to the bottom of the tie-breaker priority list.

Setup Menu - (Avaialble to commissioner(s) only) > League Rules > Transactions tab > Add / Drop Policy > "Automated auction process to do add/drops (FAAB)"

In one of my leagues we do blind bidding, but you pay the price 1 more than the second highest bid. Any idea if that could be done here?

I would imagine not. I wouldn't think enough leagues have that rule to warrant them having added it. It sounds like a manual process.

The automated free auction doesn't support that but Hook just pointed out to me that there is a commish approve auction system that may support that.

This is NOT true - could switch to "commish review"

Where is this option listed?Wait I think I get what you are saying, The two options for waivers are = Use automated auction , and Commissioner approves auction.

Is this "commish review" under the commish approve option? Because I don't see it anywhere as a tab anywhere on the site and we use the automated auction.

I just switched from automated auction to commish approved auction and it did not see past waiver claims listed. However it does look like you can see bids for the current waiver period.

Just as a side question not related to the OP, why would anyone use a commish approve blind bid system? It seems incredibly unfair advantage for a unscrupulous commish that is also a coach, and I don't see any advantage to be gained from manual sorting?

CBS doesn't give you a lot of options for implementing FAAB, so if you want your rules to be different than the default, you have to have the commish run it. (For example, if you want to be able to specify a top priority player by some mechanism other than the highest price, or if you want people with lower waiver priority to continue to win ties after they've won an auction).

don't take that responsibility.......make them get it, otherwise it belongs to whoever the site awarded it to. as NFL replay rules says, must provide inconclusive evidence to overturn.

maybe you could let the guy who is mad h e didnt get him' contact the SPORTsline crew and get the information but if he is slow and you ahve to audit and change the whole league after the playoffs are done it might make a lot of people mad and then you would have a real test of the guy who would have won but didn't sportsmanship level so i guess you would find out a little bit about your leaguemates in the process and that would be a good thing

Can you please use punctuation? I can't read this. It's like oral diarrhea.

I have my league set up that way. Basically because our rules state that each team may only pick up 1 player per week thru blind bidding. We are able to make multiple bids though, and I am pretty sure MFL would award all players to to each teams winning bid, thus making me have to go in and redo everything. If I remember correctly cbs was the same way.You can't set it up for one player awarded per week.
