Ced Benson's actions influence on Bernard Scott... (1 Viewer)

I was reading about VJAX getting 3 games and then read where someone mentioned Palmer could throw more if Benson is in trouble, etc... is Bernard Scott becoming a super sleeper in front of our eyes?

I can't recall Benson's past interactions with the Commish, but I remember him getting arrested and I believe even maced while on a boat for being intoxicated...will he face a suspension? Will that give Scott a chance to show what he has?

I can't imagine Benson getting into trouble -not- benefiting Scott. Scott showed his stuff last year so we know he's a capable back.

By show his stuff, I was implying a Rudi Johnson taking over for Corey Dillon situation based on getting an opportunity and running with it.

Benson may have to pay a fine...(I don't even know if that is going to stick...I would appeal if I was him), but there is no way he gets suspended. Scott will still be the backup. The only reason Benson could fall down on ADP lists is if other folks start to get scared. I'm not worried, but other peoples fears might make Benson an even more inviting prospect as he slides down boards. There are ways to take advantage of this situation. If the Benson owner in your league is fidgety, try to get him on the cheap.

I don't see a suspension coming. That's just reading the tea leaves right now.

I'm not to sure the Bengals see Scott as an every down back. I think they view him as more of a change of pace guy.

I feel very lucky to have traded WR Royal for RB Scott in a 16 team dynasty salary league.

Even if Benson plays well with no suspensions/injuries , isn't this a contract year? Scott for the future looks brighter and brighter.

Trouble is NEVER good, especially in today's enviroment, and it spawns all kinds of problems - for Benson in this case

Kind of curious why people think he WON'T get suspended. I was under the impression he would be given his past transgressions. Is there something I'm missing?

I think you are going too far saying "no way" he gets suspended. Right now it appears he won't but we don't have all the facts.

Obviously, this is just my opinion. That is what was asked for.

Not so fast on the C.O.P. label. This guy is 220 lbs, pretty powerful and very explosive. He is in the mold of Felix Jones, but not quite as talented, although close. The main point being that both he and Felix are assumed to be "change-of-pace" guys when they actually have feature back size and skill. Opportunity to "show-and-prove" is all that is needed to make believers out of the assumers.........some of which may be within their own organizations

Scott will be 27 in February.

Isn't that another way of saying, Scott just turned 26?

Some sites have Scott at 200 and some at 220. He measured 200 at the combine. Any reputable source that confirms he's 220?

Either way, if the Bengals view him as a COP, it's not because of his size.
