He looked good before he went down with his injury, and is recovering quickly. He seems to have the size, but does he have the ability and durability to be a fantasy stud in the NFL? IMO Leon Washington is best suited as a scat back in the NFL, and Houston may be a guy to pick up before his value possibly blows up. I haven't watched too much of the Jets, so I'd like to get some FBG and Jet Homer Insight before I take a chance on him. Anybody else like his long-term potential?

The Jets' RB situation remains a complete mess. I had Barlow and wound up dealing him this week in a package deal for help at other areas. I traded for McAllister and this week, Fred Taylor. I still have Houston (active, but on IR) and Blaylock on my practice squad (I inherited this team 3 weeks ago) so I will take a "wait and see" approach and just leave Houston on the bench for now. Then you have Curtis Martin wanting to come back, which I'm doubting the Jets will let him do when it comes down to decision time.

Just a real mess.

As of now, Washington has been the most impressive. Unless he gets the starting job, I don't think any of them are worth a spot, except in very large leagues.

this is a very :goodposting:I thought the exact same thing.. It's comical how many people in fantasy football circles throw around 'potential stud' to try to convince themselves that a player they know nothing about, may never have seen play and has no information on might become the next Ladanaian... A guy like Cedric Houston might be a solid NFL back but sadly there will be a bunch of FF players who will think he's a bust because he didn't become Eric Dickerson in his limited opportunity.next week expect the following"Mewelde Moore, future fantasy Stud?""Cedric Cobbs, future fantasy Stud?""Leon Washington, future fantasy Stud?"

Cedric Houston is a stud ( ;) ) when running with the football but his pass protection is absolutley atrocious. I attended numerous Jets' training camp practices this past summer and that is all you would hear was Houston getting screamed at for pass blocking like a chump.

Then, in a preseason game vs. Tampa Bay he almost got Pennington decapitated totally whiffing on a blitz up the middle.

This is the single biggest thing that keeps young RBs off the field. With the Jets' running woes and the fact that they must throw the ball 30+ times per game, in addition to the fact that Pennington has proven to be injury-prone the past few seasons, that doesn't add up to an ideal situation for a RB with pass protection troubles.

HTH.

What many seem to overlook is that Houston was a holdover from the Herm regime - he's not Mangini's guy.

He may turn out to be the best of the bunch, but unless he REALLY impresses the rest of the way and Washington can't handle the load, look for the Jets to address the RB situation in a big way.

I just titled it that because it gets more attention and views if you have that sort of title. Hey, it got you to check it out, and make a post.
